I am sick of waiting for my 05 GT vert. Its been 9 months, dealer has no information on the car. I missed 1 top down season already. Next one is only a few months away. Considering another car. Anyone have thoughts ? 350 Z ?

Do you have a deposit down?
Have they any specifics on the ETA?

If your dealer is being unresponsive, that is too bad. There could be production issues and transit issues as well, but it's hard to tell without more information.

That really stinks. But you should try different dealers. My experience:

In September I went to 2 of my local Ford dealers. One of them had an '05 on order since February, including a deposit on it. They had no idea when it would arrive, only knew that the order had recently been changed on Ford's end to be an '06 model. They told me that I could order one, but it could be forever before it arrived. The 2nd dealer had 3 GT's but all 3 were pre-sales (sold). They too stated they could order, but it would be a minimum of 2 months and likely 6 months they said. I passed on that deal too......

I ended up going to ford.com and doing searches by zipcodes that I knew for being within a 200 mile radius; I found multiple dealers that had several GTs to choose from; I ended up buying my '06 around Labor Day.

If you're outta luck with any dealer within driving distance and are really considering buying something besides a Mustang and you want a 'vert, the Nissan is a nice car. Unfortunately there isn't many performance oriented 'verts available. However, if you can find a GT vert at a different dealer, do it; you won't regret it.

Coming into this, it sounded like you had your mind made up and it seems you still might.

If the deposit is non-refundable (which you could throw a stink to get it back unless you have signed paperwork), get the other car.

If it is, I would go get the car from another dealer.

Their allocation is terrible on stang Gts.....
I am sure you can get your money back,A dealer cannot hold a deposit and keep it if they don't get the car for yea on a certain date.....
Take a Drive down south and put a deposit on one of the bigger dealers and you will have a 2007 Stang Gt sometime in July 2006..
Check your DORA and Call Fords 800# and see where yeaaaa at,If yea at C/U then your dealers is screwing with yeaaaaaa.JT

Search the dealer inventories online once you figure that out it's the easy way to find the one you want. search the bigger cities.

'05? Isn't all production done for 05, and everyone had to move their orders over to '06.

06

Yes, dealer told me they would give me the same price for an 06. I landed the car fully loaded Gt vert for 31,233.00 This includes the shaker 1000, interior upgrade with red leather and alum dash and a soft top boot. This was a really great price at the time. Now I see some prices coming down, although maybe not that low. Not sure if going to another dealer will yield the same price.

Who is your dealer? I'll see if I can check your order status.
