Not sure if anyone has tried this combo as a wheel cleaner solution but I thought I would give it a shot. I used Simple Green APC 4:1 for the outside and Dawn Power Dissolver for the hard stuff on the inside of these wheels.

Not bad for lower cost OTC products... I did a full write up on my blog.

Where the hell did you go to get your wheels that dirty?

The ones I picked up at the dismantle yard were waaaay more dirty than Danny's. The inside was totally caked about a quarter inch thick of brake dust, grease and grime.

I ended up using Autozone's degrease and dissolver plus a brush to get em clean again.

Are those machined, polished or chrome wheels Danny?

glad it worked out for you but I would never let that dawn cleaner or a brush with bristles like that on any wheel I own. you'll end out with no clear on the wheels and little scratches everywhere.

use a non acidic, very mild cleaner and just take the time to scrub if needed. always rinse off your sponge or brush as often as possible too.
