I am going to buy a Manual Brake Master Cylinder kit from Skinny Kid Race Cars. The basic kit which includes the rod to correct pedal ratios, the adapter plate, and the master cylinder is $169. They have a specail going on which includes a brake line kit which has a lot of fittings and such which goes for $175 alone, then a Hurst Roll Controll unit that goes for $110 alone. All togeather the kit is $416 which saves $38 anyways. I will need to re-run some of the lines to make the kit run anyways. My questions is: Should I buy the basic kit or the combo kit? What else will I need?

Ok, I guess my question is really if the brake line kit is worth it. I will probally need to re-run some lines anyways.

I was looking at the way ford runs the factory brake lines. The left front runs right off the bottom port of the M/C, while the right front and the rears run off the proportioning/metering (not sure, I belive it's both) valve that runs off the other two ports on the side of the M/C. I wonder why ford did it that way. No wonder my right front locked up first real easy, the valve was bad. I might want to fix that before putting skinnies up front.

Well, when I did our Aerospace brake conversion, the only lines that I bought were short piece of stainless braided that connect the hard line to calipurs.

My set-up is Aerospace manual brake adapter,TCI line lock, and the Aerospace lines (came wit the brake kit).

Edit:I also got a pressure sensor so my lights still work.

ahhh someone replied! :nice: Who did you buy the aerospace unit from, how much did it cost, and did it correct the pedal ratio???

Well, you see...the Aerospace guys are local here,so...I get back door pricing :nice: .

Normal price is $160-70 I believe,got mine for $130 :) .

Well, for the pedal ratio deal,I just removed the pedal and drilled a hole in it (as per instuctions),and put it back in.The kit comes with a heim joint,so you got to get the light to work someother way.Go to a local store, and ask to look around in the fittings and hook up a pressure sensor.Thats what I did, worked great.

Cool, I think I might just go with the SK kit, I think it does use the aerospace M/C. A line lock would be sweet.

Sounds good.

I think you'll like the manual brakes, really cleans up the hunder hood, makes getting to num 7 and 8 plugs alot easier to.

Just make sure the ratio is right, and that you can get the lights to work.

Also, your car was a 5speed wasnt it?You might want to make the pedal bigger,I have been thinking of doing this for a while now.Maybe just wield a piece of metal to it.

I like your project, keep up the good work :nice: .

It will still be a 5 speed. I love bangin' gears, maby one day I'll get a manual shift C4 with a transbrake or something but until then, TKO500.

The line lock / roll controll would be nice for burnout box and keeping it steady at the line.

I just don't know if the brake line kit is worth $175. I can buy the line at any autoparts store, and I have the flaring tools. I will probally just make my own.

I am also buying a Flaming River manual rack kit. I am also going to get the some racing seats as well. Building a car cost a fortune. Well, at least after I am done I will have the car where I want it.

I got the SKRC manual brake conversion. I didn't get the line kit or the roll controll. I'll get the roll controll later after I get the car togeather. I hope it all works togeather.
