I really dunno what to do here guys...I think I have fixed it cause it goes away for awhile and then it comes back...right now if it is sunny 70 degrees or hotter I get ping in the midrange (4k-4500) it is very slight so I must be getting close to getting rid of this thing but still it persists...I have recently had a dyno tune so the timing and a/f ratio are good, fuel filter is good, all new ignition, used seafoam, replaced act and ect sensors...I am at a loss...oh and btw I checked out the vacuum lines and it looked good but I will prolly replace those and the fuel pump soon enough... any ideas other than that???

btw I can prolly get by with the way it is now cause it is very minor...just a little tick tick right in the middle of the powerband and then it is gone...but I would like it to be 100% ping free...

What type of plugs are u running? When is switched from Autolite 25's (stock plug) to the current 23's it helped a lot with pinging. I also switched to 89 octane. Do you have any ignition upgrades?

MAF wires clean? Are you using cheap gas like Flying J, Albertson's, Fred Meyer's, etc. If you are then try spending the extra .10/gal on Chevron gas. It is better and makes a difference. No pinging is good. Even a little pinging is going to bring down the engine's efficiency.

to ping the engine has to be under the greatest load I can give it...going up hill at wide open throttle on a warm (70 and up) day...I use 92 octane gas from 76 everytime and yes I have cleaned the maf sensor...I am running autolite 24's no ignition upgrades and the ignition is all brand new as stated before..

just saw this chart in another thread and it got me wondering...if you check out my dyno numbers it is a safe bet I am right at or maybe even slightly over 285 horsepower at the crank...with this in mind are the 19 pound injectors at 38-42 psi fuel pressure just not doing the job??
(click on link and the chart is in post number 9 on that thread)

The Computers In The 94-95 Cars Are A Pain In The Ass. My Car Would Always Run Hot AND PING LIKE A MOFO EVEN With Just Simple Bolt Ons. I Tried Everything...all New Hoses, Radiator, Waterpump, Fan, And Nothing Worked. I Also Thought It Was A H/g But It Would Always Run Fine In The Evenings Or Early Mornings. Finally I Got An A9l Computer Conversion With Manual Fan Switch And It Never Ran Cooler, NEVER DETONATED OR PINGED AGAIN. Picked up A Few Tenths In The Quarter On The Motor And Almost A Full Second On The Unit. If You Want One Let Me Know...as You Can See From My Signature I Have One For Sale!

You got a dyno tune and you still have pingning? What is the point of dyno tuning if they don't clear your pinging issue?

It wasn't pinging before the dyno tune...the point of the tune was it was running wayyy rich and needed to be leaned out and since I already had the computer it was real cheap like 100 bucks..the pining came about just recently as the weather started getting over 70 everyday...

How are your A/F ratios now? If this only happens during hotter ambient temps, I would wonder if the chambers are not a little dirty. It is strange that this came about after a dyno tune though. Will the shop touch up the burn for you for cheap?

Good luck.

"touching up" the tune as you put it would cost me the same as a new tune...about another 100 bucks...see the tune is dirt cheap but I gotta pay for the dyno time...oh well if the above stated theory is correct and I need to clean my chambers that will be taken care of when I put on my gt-40 irons
