Driving around tonite and hear this rattle coming from under my car. Thought it was just a loose exhaust bolt or something, but turned out that one/maybe both of my cats blew. Sounds like crap...bunch of cans bangin around or something and its soo embarrasing. Happened to my friends car awhile back and I knew the sound was familiar, but didnt want to come to terms with that. Anyway, I was gonna call SLP to complain, but since my car is lowered and the cats are all scrapped up anyway, they will probably not replace them due to my mods. Got me some staight pipes (friend made them for $10) to replace the cats anyway, thats what my friend did and his car sounds mean. Hope I dont lose any hp/tq and if so, I figure it will be on the low end...doesnt matter since I have gears/tq cnvtr huh?

yeah, my SLP cats got owned by every bump in the road. went to O/R pipes and LMII's. like it a lot better this way.

mine were only on for about 3 months. i dont think SLP actually fabricates the cats. i believe they come from an outside supplier and SLP customizes them to fit their x-pipes. they come with a registration and warranty.
Got off road pipes now...SH_TTTTTTT! This thing sounds amazing, like the catted pipe, just way louder and with about 1.5 in more clearance as well up front for those pesky speed bumps.jasonh_86 said:It sounds much better without cats
