Because of my current situation (no garage, tools, ramps, jacks) I decided it would be most convient just to pay the local shop to install my SLP O/R X pipe.

They agreed, and I dropped it off an hour ago. I get a call 10 minutes ago saying he is going to have to keep it over night because he has to drop the 'H frame' to get to the right studs, and that is going to take another hour..

Is this information correct ?!?!?

WHAT!
X and H pipes are 30 min. installs. Get your car back and call a buddy. That's BS!
They have no idea what they are doing.

All you need to get the pass. side nuts off are a extention and a swivel head socket.

And WTF is the H frame? Does he mean K member?

This guy is a idiot.

he should be able to get the studs out without taking anything else off the car , but yes you should replace the studs or you will have a leak . hes half right in my opinion , if you cant do it yourself to begin with , dont criticize him till you get under the car yourself , im with your mechanic half way , dont know what hes taking off there is a small brace across the bottom maybe thats what hes taking off for more room to get the studs out , just 2 bolts on it though .
