Smog pump tube plugs....

They sell thermactor plugs which "plug" up the hole where the smog equipment goes...you can get them at a Ford Dealership - part # F4ZZ-6E086-A

and you can buy some from Summitracing - part # TFS-51400265

They screw right in...they cost anywhere from $2-$8 bucks depending on where you get them from...

I've heard to use an old spark plug, break off the porcelain and screw it in. Same for anyother bolt if you have a couple big enough. You can also cut off the oblong pieces on the smog tube, flip them over and bolt em down. They wont' leak, been done by many for years. If you want to spend $$ use the plugs mentioned above.

What tools did you guys use to break these loose when the engine is in the car. I can't seem to find any combo that will give me enough leverage.

Are you talking about getting out the old thermactor plugs out?...I couldn't get my old ones out...they were rusted in the old e7 heads...

When I dissconnected my smog pump, I left the metal tube that runs around into the back of the heads. I'd love to be able to get to the bolts that hold them in, but can't. I wan't to remove that ugly pipe.

Yeah that is what I did with mine...left the pipe there...it is a tight fit back there...
