A search yielded me nothing. So I must ask....

After doing my BBK Longtubes, I realize that trying to work around that huge ass pipe that plugs into the stock H-Pipe was not fun. Trying to fit the headers, and having that pipe hit me in the head was awesome. I tried about 5 times smacking that pipe on the lift to try and bend it out of the way, but no avail. Now, no more connection in my h-pipe, so my smog stuff has to go. I am wondering how hard this is to do. What do I need to remove? I want to remove everything except the smog pump. Only reason is, I have an A/C delete kit coming so I do not want to have to buy two different size belts. So, any tips on removing this crap? I know I need thermactor plugs for the back of the heads. Anyone know how many I need? Also, anyone have good advice for removing the smog and A/C?

Here's how I did it.....I pulled all of the A/C equipment off and used the A/C eliminator kit that moved my steering pump up,then I removed all of the smog crap...pump,tube to the h-pipe,the pipe behind the heads, and vaccuum lines to the smog junk.Plug the holes in the back of the heads, and I also removed the A/C compressor harness. Then,I went to Autozone and picked up a Duralst 73.5 inch belt and I was finished. With this belt,I just bypassed the where the smog pump was and didn't need a smog pump eliminator kit.I haven't had any problems what-so-ever.

For the thermactor plugs I used two 5/8-11 maybe about 1" long set screws they are pretty big but you stick an allen wrench on them and bottom them out into the hole it works great and looks professional Use red loc-tite on them or high temp thread sealer go to http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=6 scroll down and it will tell you what resistors to use and how to set it up to delete the egr valve and make the computer not throw trouble codes as well if your interested

I saw just wait til you get your a/c delete kit in and than drop all of the smog parts including the pump.

Just adding this but, some say too use 9/16-12 bolts and above says to use 5/8-11 bolts to plug the holes, who knows the actual size of the damn therm holes? I personally used 2 old spark plugs from my engine, don't know what the thread size is on them though, it was just a quick fix.
