Just wanted to add one thing.. in 1987 the T-type changed to a "T" package that you could get with either the 3.8 turbo six or a 307 V8 ( WHY anybody ordered those I don't know, but I have seen a few)

The T package could be ordered on any regal including the limited, some even had no power options with a bench seat and column shifter

The did not have T-type badges just a Black block with a red T in it, Turbo 6 T's had the bulge hood V8 ones had the flat hood

Mine was white/grey interior with T-tops, turbo 3.8 ( of course) with a posi rear end and it did not have the W02 blackout package so I had the grandma chrome trim.

Nice sleeper since some people did not realize it was a TR right away. I miss that car

yeah the one at irwindale was all that great. Launch control and all wheel drive is nice but I don't think it's worth $80000. Or at least I wouldn't pay that. Oh and GNX are a bad ass car. I'd buy one in a second.

yeah i wasnt impressed at all, 60' times the same as a 10k lb vehicle def not worth 80k

I look at it this way, if the guy has spent 80K on any car, he certainly better walk away, stop better, handle better, and have better resale than my old coupe; that's the bottom line.

You also have to look at the technology involved, between a Fox and the Nissan GTR lie many years of advancements and for some that is what they are specifically looking for, the whole data logging capability to upload to their iphone via blue tooth while discussing finances over a cup of Starbucks.

A built Fox is se x while the GTR is like mast ur bation... it's good and safe but just not quite the real deal.

Mustang is the Harley Davidson of the car world, it doesn't do anything particularly well when it is compared to it's super-performance counterparts and magazine stats, but the image it portrays is priceless. People want own it, drive it, live it and the sales #'s prove it.

I'm a fan of the GT-R. I think that car is hot. Any badass performance car is always a good thing in my book. Although, for the money the GT-R wouldn't be my first choice.

Well while it has less HP it is much quicker and faster and handles better and stops quicker and rides better and weighs more.
Less HP + more weight = Faster?

OAN I dont think the new GT-Rs have that trans problem cause I think Nissan removed the launch controll and allowed the regular launch to be slightly more agressive.

Nor does it accelerate as well as the original numbers posted by Nissan with the new program. I always thought it was funny that to duplicate the numbers posted by the manufacturer and the magazines, you had to void your warranty.

Oh, please compare it to anything but a Harley. HDs are nothing but maintenance nightmares and are good for nothing but converting gasoline into noise. I'd like to think that our beloved Foxes are more than just an image!

Well I was trying to keep it American, but I guess if one was to swing the other way, I'd call it a UJM like my 82' GS1100 Suzi. The Suzi is built rock solid, is still reliable after many years and above all else she takes a mean licking and keeps on ticking.

Foxes have also been coined as the modern day '55 Chevy. Easy to mod, simply to work on, has a strong cult following and overall can have that classic muscle car sound and feel to it.

i've been gone from this thread for awhile so haven't had the chance to respond to those who have told me i know nothing about cars and that i am stuck up if i do not like a nice honda hatch. ridiculous, i would never own one, i am not saying people who do are of bad taste, but i would (personally) never drive a fail wheel drive car and try to portray the image of badass fast car with my engine thats sound was indistinguishable from my 23hp v-twin zero turn. By musclecars, i was referring to those over the years, not just right now (i assume u were referring to camaro, mustang, challenger?), besides the grocery-getting sedans that our mom's drove to work, i wouldnt say that the rice market has done anything that american cars haven't done.

80k is stupid expensive for that car, with 485 hp is ridiculous AT THE CRANK. i'll pass and buy a decent fox and drop 5-10g max in it and have a super fast street car that will challenge a gtr in a drag any day. not like i'm going to be road racing on the street anyway

I agree with most comments said. When I saw the GT-R at the strip two fridays ago, yea I checked it out. It stood out in the crowd. Do I like the way it looks? Not really, it's pretty narly looking yea, but the lines are all over the place. Would I drive one? Probably not. For 80k there are a handful of vehicles I would choose over the GT-R. Like notchbck93 stated, the fox will live forever. My dad always freaks out when he sees a nice chevelle 454 SS. "When I was in highschool no one could touch those cars on the street, except for Hemi cars" The foxbody mustang was The Car when I was in highschool in the early 90's. Plus, as a highschool student with little money, we could afford to hop them up a bit and the cars have always been receptive to bolt-on mods, bumped timing, gears, and exhaust. There is a cult following which is great. Competitive racers still use the platform to this day (Urich to name one)
You can do anything with a foxbody mustang. I see that response all the time on this forum...."What do you want to do with it?" "What's your goal?"
With regards to imports "ricers"...Not a fan of front wheel drive cars. Don't get me wrong, I drove a beat up 1995 Honda civic as an undergraduate, then drove a 2001 Honda prelude in graduate school. Where they nice cars? Yea for daily driving and gettin to school. But I would never modify one or spend any money on one performance wise. Bout 5 years ago I started looking for a nice fox again. I had a 88 coupe former highway patrol coupe in highschool that eventually ran 11.30's on a 100 shot but sold it years ago to pay for school. It is getting tougher to find a nice foxbody! I looked at a lot of them. They all had a million miles, AND a million names on the titles (which were probably all teenagers beating the snot out of it) The good ones are fewer and far between. 2nd car I would love to own....Buick Grandnational!

GNs are awesome too! i wouldnt mind one of those. i have no problem with ricers, people who drive them probably think my car is dumb, which is fine also, to each his own.
