Wish I saw these also. 150 bucks for both sides is well worth it. The aggrevation of filling those holes isnt worth it.

Hey guys, Thanks for all the ideas. However i own a marina and just got the idea to have my Fiberglass guy epoxy-glass the aprons. Use some west system epoxy and fiberglass...See what happens ill post some pics of progress. Might be on to something...

Do not fiberglass them! I gaurantee it will crack and rust out. The shocks of the road bumps and stuff will stress the unibody and crack out the fiberglass. You need to weld the holes shut as moisture will get between the glass and steel and fall apart!

I see that looking good for about 6 months. Then it will slowly deteriorate after that. These unibody cars flex ALOT and once the glass completely hardens it will no longer flex with the body and will let go. You are most likely making for alot more work down the road. Boat and automotive stuff usually don't mix. lol

Well i have about three hours into it, and its painted. Im just trying to get it running now. I ground the metal down to bare, then used West system epoxy and fiberglass matting. Heres what it looks like. Not the best, but better than factory. Plus i used POR 15 over the fiberglass and behind on the inner fender. Not as smooth as i would like but i looks pretty good in day light. Im happy! Not building a show car by any means. But just wanted to clean it up a bit.

I'm sceeerrd. I'm waiting to see how it looks finished with the engine back in it. I'm on the fence, I think the idea of fiberglass is definatly new, but I also agree that with a little more work it could look nice at first. I just don't know how well it will hold up in the long run.

So as I said before, I'm sceeerrrd, I hope for your sake and the sake of the stang it works out for ya.

We have a plow truck up here that the bed was rotting off of so we glassed the floor. And a part time kid who works for us has been using it. And gotta tell ya not one part of the glass has cracked off yet. Sooooooo im crossing my fingers. haha in person it isnt as lumpy as the pics make it to look. I think a light light coat of bondo would do the trick. If not, heck grind it off and weld.

I have been toying with doing these in my engine bay. Not the weld in kind, i'm going to do the pop rivet kind for that racecar type look.

Thanks man! I painted it with a semi-gloss black and it came out so much better...So im going to use a strut tower brace aswell, try and keep it all together. Im sure that epoxy will hold up. Fingers crossed!

Do yourself a yourself a favor. Ditch that Fram filter like a chick you picked up in a bar and found out it's a dude! Search about it, they will kill your motor. I am speaking from experience, I lost an engine to one. Get a motorcraft.
