SN95 calipers on 85 GT

Im trying to do a SN95 5 lug conversion to my 85 GT. I have 1995 spindles with 2000 twin piston calipers and brake lines. Ive read that your supposed to run your old lines with the new caliper banjo bolts. This doesnt look like it wiil work on mine. My brake lines just screw into the calipers. Any ideas?? Other than $80 steal lines...

the old lines there talking about are the rubber lines off the 94-95 mustangs. but to install the pbr's on your stang you can purchase a set of 94-95 rubber brake lines from a local auto parts store for about $27 (there $12.99 each here) and use the pbr banjo bolts you will also need to grind about 2/16 of an inch off the passenger side rubber line metal connector that the banjo bolt mounts thru you will see this when you go to install its easy to do also you will need one of these adapters in this link to connect the rubber line to your steel line on the passenger side http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Must...ryZ33563QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem the drivers side rubber line should connect with no problems but you can verify this with http://www.maximummotorsports.com/ they are very knowledgeable about this subject they helped me with my install.

Run '99-04 Brake lines.

They will fit either GT or CObra calipers, so if you ever decide to upgrade in the future you will be all set.

the 99-04 brake lines will fit the calipers but the 99-04 will require an adapter for both passenger and drivers side for the connection to the hard line but if you want to do that http://www.maximummotorsports.com/ can verify if you can and sell you the adapters..

If it's the same as my '93, you need a Weatherhead 7828 adapter for the passenger side. You should be able to pick one up at Napa or where ever; $3-$5 a piece. I bought two just in case.

Quick question. I am doing the 5 lug conv this week. I have a 91 Notch. I will be using 94-95 GT spindles with 99-04 PBR dual piston calipers brackets bolts and lines. Will I have any trouble, do I need adapters like metioned above??

Most Foxes will need the adapter if you use factory SN95 brake lines.

If you buy aftermarket SS lines for the Fox, it should work as is.

I beleive the adapter is only needed on the pass side.

If you use brake lines from any 94-04 Mustang in the front AND rear then YES you will need adapters.

For the front passenger side you will need a Weatherhead 7828.

For the rear you will need TWO Weatherhead 7818 adapters; one for each side.

They're pretty cheap, and should be easy to find. Good luck!

I am using the lines from the 99-04, they are still on the calipers, I will just thread them into the metal lines on the frame rail.

Another queston--Do the FOX bodies stop OK with that conversion. I put the V-8 FOX booster and master in. (My notch started as a 4cyl). I have all other parts needs such struts, bolts etc...

Well my '03 GT that has those brakes stops fine and it weighs a few hundred pounds more than a Fox. I've layed into them pretty hard and they hold up nicely with minimal fade (usually towards the end of a long 80MPH+ slowdown)
