i bought some 02 dark charcoal leather seats for the notch. they aren't here for a bit still, im trying to figure out my seat track situation.

i read the sn95 seats position the seat higher. how much higher do they sit roughly? i have a non-tilt column. my leg's have roughly 1 inch of clearance from the wheel as it is. i'm wondering if these raise the seat 1" or less? anyone mocked it up?

if i don't use the sn95 rails, i believe the fox stock rails bolt up. did i read that correctly? only downside to that for me is no power.

i know i've seen in searching, a handful of you on here have used the exact seats im getting. i'm also doing the rears in a coupe. i've been talking with one of the users who did this. so it should look great all finished.

I used the sn95 seats/rails in a vert with no clearance issues at all. FWIW I am 6'1. took an afternoon or two to get used to it, but after that I actually thought the new height was more comfortable.

SN95 seat rails, at full down, actually sit lower than fox rails. It's just a question of if you want it full down as they do have 8-way tilt. In some combinations, you can raise the seat higher than the fox seats.

Mine are on Fox rails, but if i can find some Sn95 power tracks, i would make the swap

The seats I got come with a power rail. My lx has no power connection though. So I jst need to run a power wire and ground it for the power to work then right? Ill keep the rails if they function better like you say. Id much rather keep the power.

Yup, they just need 12V and a ground.

You might have the power plugs under the seats though. I know my LX did.

yeah, i dug around for them when i replaced the entire interior. i have nothing at all.. i'll double check when the seats are out again.

i am doing front/rear seats, so running a power wire won't be much of an inconvenience either way.

it's a definate height increase. A friend put some v6 seats into his 89 coupe, and I always hated the way it fealt. I still had headroom, but it was a good couple of inches higher or so

well i guess i'll run a power wire and ground tonight in preperation. if they don't fit right, i can use my manual fox rail.

a couple inches higher? that is pretty contradicting of what the other 2 have said..

I could be completely and utterly wrong...that's a sotp feel, which I should have mentioned.

I will say for certain though, that the v6 seats sat a good deal higher. It wasn't stupid higher..but enough to make me not like it.

5l5 was also talking about the power rails...he could be right. My experience is with the typical manual rails. Do let us know what you find out!!! If the power rails make it sit lower, then this is a mod that I'd consider re visiting

ok. i test fit the manual passenger side and power drivers side. i was planning to use manual on both after testing the passenger side first.

the seat is much higher with manual rails like you said.

then i test fit the power side, and it's not bad at all. feels about like stock. i'm not the tallest guy in the world, and my girlfriend is 5'1" so these should work good now.

power on drivers side, manual fox rail on passenger side. just need to find my lumbar plug/or run a power wire.

I had 2001 GT seats in my 81 notch. But I put the 2001 dash and column in too, so I had tilt. The seats do make you sit up higher. Without tilt, I would not have liked it. I'm 6'0" with long legs. I wouldn't have like it at all.

I'm 6'1" and am comfortable in mine. I'm running Fox manual rails on my seats. But like i said, with the power tracks they can be set lower than on manual tracks. I know because i did a side-by-side of my '03 GT seats on power tracks and the same seats on Fox tracks in my LX. The SN95 power tracks were lower than the fox manual tracks when set to full down.

this seat right now is in a comfortable position actually and its about where the fox seat sat. the passenger side with the sn95 manual rail was rediculous. im like 5' 9" and my head was close to the roof...

my manual fox rail has the linkage missing, so i had to adjust the seat position outside the car. otherwise, its much better. turned out i had a power lumbar plug, it was cut off though. so i'll just run 2 wires off the power to the plug, then a ground.

i need your input asap mustang5l5, what kind of connector did you use on the jumper wire to the power seat connector? i tried the bullet connectors (.157 is all i can find) and it doesn't fit snug at all.

i tried regular butt connectors, red and blue's.. they don't fit right. i see that pic with the close up to the jumper wire connections and cant make it out.

I'd hit the J/Y and cut the plug/pigtail out of an SN95. Use the pigtail to splice into your wiring you ran.

Note that 94-98 pigtails are different than N.E. pigtails, but they can be made to function.

Good luck.

thanks jt. i ended up taking my blue butt connectors, and makin them work..

i ground the insulation off the end down to the metal. then i just formed them with my pliers to grip the studs. the power seat works now.

interior is 99% done. just gotta staple my carpet to the wood spacers on monday @ work. :nice:

Trade?

I have 01 GT vert seats and I am 6'5" tall and my head feels like it will go through the roof....
