Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone knew if the Fox body mustangs have the same seat mounting locations as an SN-95 Mustang? Would you need to change the seat tracks if you were putting in 03/04 Cobra or Mach seats into an 88-93 Mustang? I'd appreciate some feedback. Thanks guys.

I'm sure they bolt right up but I also believe a lot of people that have done this took them out because they sat too high in the car.....I'm sure someone will pipe in with more experience

They sit higher, but they fit just fine, otherwise. Lots of folks've done it and loved 'em. I think the height difference is just something you have to get used to, unless you're one of those Sasquatch types whose head is banging against the headliner with every bump.

Some guys have even rigged the power seats to work in there, too, but that's a little more involved than I'd ever wanna get with 'em ... but then, I'm lazy.

They all bolt in. You can use the SN95 tracks or swap to the Fox tracks depending on preferences.

thanks for all the replies guys. I see that my only issue would be the height of the seat, i suppose I can try it and see what I think. I was just hoping that I could avoid having to piece together a new seat track. Glad to hear that the 03/04 seats will bolt right into the stock fox body seat location.

99-04 can use the power tracks, but they sit higher. If you want to lower the seat down, use the fox tracks, but you lose the 8-way adjustability....not that it's that great.

The above is completely wrong.

All of the seats bolt directly in. The 94-98 seats are a direct bolt in. The 99-04 seats bolt in just fine, but require a little wiring modification to the harness to make all of the electrical functions work.

I've got a little first-hand experience with this project.

I have 97 cobra seats in my 88 coupe, I used my track because I didn't feel like wiring in the power. They do sit higher, but I am 6' and don't have any problems. Granted I only drove my car with my original seats for a few months...so it's not like I had a lot of time to get used to the original seat height.

They bolt right in, I have a set in my '89. They do sit a little higher, I just lay the seat back a little. It feels funky but it's not terrible.

There are no modifications at all? Not even for the back seat?

Ok so i was wrong about the 94-98 seats needing the fox track. Thats all.

I still said the 99-04 seats will bolt in fine using EITHER the OEM tracks or the fox tracks if you want them a bit lower

i'm trying to bolt a pair of 99+ seats into my 87 hatch and they're not fitting. as someone said the seat bottoms are not flat. i dont have the seat tracks from the newer seats, only my fox tracks.

anyone know of a writeup to make the fox tracks work?

You need to use longer bolts and washers to make up the difference. 15 Minutes at the local Napa and they will bolt right in... but how would I know. Don't mind, it will be done within a week or so.

My 90 LX 5.0 has a power driver seat. The seat itself is actually from a 92. Did the 90s come with a power driver seat? I don't know for sure, I bought the car this way.

I used my Stock Fox Tracks when Bolting in a set of 96 GT Seats, I copied what they did in the Mustang Magazines.

Euphoric I plan to get a different wheel, but I was looking at a 1999+ leather one, so long as where the wheel and the steering column meet it doesnt look rediculous.
