i'm wanting to take off the horse on my 01 Cobra grill and put the aftermarket snake decal on there. Do I have to take off my bumper to do this? I believe they have some kind of safety mechanism on their that prevents people from simply unscrewing it from the bracket. If anyone has done this or knows what has to be done, please let me know. Thanks.

You don't even have to open the hood to change it. The emblem is just held on by two torx screws. You can get a set of torx bits at any auto parts store.

They're tamper proof torx screws, make sure you get the correct type of torx bit. I think it's a 25mm bit size. Should cost under $10 for a complete set of tamper proof torx bits.

I think I would like to get one of these since they are that easy to put in...heck I said no before but did not know they were just two screws.

Well...you have to pull the front of your car off, then after pulling the engine out, then you can get in to mount the emblem. j/k.

Yeah...two screws and I was done with mine, looks good.

I got a tamper proof (there's a hole drilled down the center) T25 bit at Ace Hardware for $1.25. No problemo.

I waited until it was time for my routine 5K mile checkup at Ford and just asked them to put it on. Some people don't like the look of the snake in the grill since it's smaller, but I like it.
