Snobby mustang owners

I got the same thing when I was 17.I owned a nice 85 Monte Carlo SS,with fat tires and nice rims on it.Payed 6k for it with only 45k miles on it,not a scratch.Payed for with my own money, everyone always would rag on me...look what daddy got you.My dad said if I wanted a car,you pay for it,the gas and the insurance and I did....well actually when I got it insurance wasnt a law yet but for me to have it,my dad said that it was law..:D after that I owned a few z28's,couple IROC's,Ta's,one Silverado(didnt last long),and now 2 stangs. And the stangs are my favs of all with the SS being a close 2nd.

My first was a 89 2.3 5spd notch, paid 300 bones for it, turn around and sold it for 800 the next year. But ive always bought my own cars. Car payments blow, so does insurance, but since ive turned 21 they're giving me a minor break.

In Texas guys dont see a real break until 25,women 21....why?:shrug:I only pay $93 a month full coverage for the Mach now...but when I was 20 with the 92 TA....265month ins and 275 month car note....not fun

I wouldnt say you ran into a snobby mustang owner but rather a spoiled little bratt kid. but i have run into a few 05+ guys that kinda talked down to me because i have a 2v and they made sure to point out the fact that they have more hp witch isnt the case anymore since i installed the vortech.

You should see how the vette guys talk to the camaro guys particularly they ls1 guys. its brutal.

:rlaugh:I know first hand,I was a camaro,TA GUY ONCE,it is very BRUTAL.

My first car was a 67 Chevelle SS396 with a 283 in it. Paid 400 for it and had to buy it myself. But that Christmas I got a hurst comp plus shifter and 350 my step dad had with 11to1 comp, crane cam and 202 heads. smart me got caught doing 140 in town but all I got was a racing ticket that ended up costing 80.00. those were the days.

wish we could all just get along.

Like thats going to happen on this site.
The world is made up of many individual personalities, and you can run into snobby people anywhere you go. I have owned many different cars and you always will have those few that are snobby and think there $hit doesn't stink as they either just don't care or simply think they are so much better than you or both.
Heck, just look at some of the snobby attitudes on this very forum.
Maybe some right here on this forum need to clean up the house here before expecting others to be any different.

Seriously man, read more threads than yours and a handful others. Judging by your post count and your attitude this site serves as a place where you can show off your new additions to the stang. Thats fine. But don't expect everyone to love them, and don't hate on a site you obviously don't explore.

I was 16 when I got my GT, by the time I was 17 it was in the 12s, at 18 it was in the 11s, and now at 19 I should be in the 10s or at least knocking on the door HARD. LOL

Age has nothing to do with it, its all about responsibility and respect. Everyone told me I was going wreck the car, kill myself, ect and guess what I've never even been pulled over. I was in an accident but it was pretty much out of my hands (rain+MT DRs = wreck). Its so funny when I drive the GT500 everyones like man this car is so fast and I just laugh and tell them we need to go for a ride in the GT. At the end of the day you can be 50 and still drive like an idiot and yes I know some guys that are like that. One guy is like in his late 50s around here and acts like hes 16. He does doughnuts in his 350Z in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Also I'm considered a snob in my town because I don't race all the stock GTs in town and don't do burnouts at every stop sign or everytime I pull out on to the road. HAHA I guess you’re not a badass unless you do that.

FUNNY STORY: I was at a car show standing by my car talking to a guy about it and this kid that drives a Red 03 GT comes up with his friend and starts talking s**t to his friend about how my cars slow and how I'm a stuck up a$$hole that makes everyone think its fast. He then proceeds to say how he tried racing me and I was scared and wouldn't race him. So overhearing all this I walk up to him and tell him it has nothing to do with being scared and that I just didn’t fell I needed to “prove” myself to a stock GT. He then corrects me letting me know he has exhaust and intake, like those are some major mods. I start laughing and he gets pissed and walks away. The next week he sees me and gets beside me and just takes off. This time I decide to play along and let him get about two lengths on me then I pull back up to him and as soon as I get to his window I look at him, wave and then just take off. (The whole time he was at WOT.)

My cousin was in the car with me and he was laughing so hard he was crying. He tells that story at every party we go to when I drive the Stang.

I got my GT when i had just turned 17, and it was my first car. It really comes down to the kid not the car, though. I treat my car like my queen, there's just no way im beating on it like all these ricers and other kids. I've seen plenty of kids around me get killed or throw in jail for crappy driving, so I know my limits and the car's limits too. Plus at $4.00 a gallon, there's no way im hauling ass very often :D

also, i didn't know how to drive stick when I got my car. Everyone said id screw up my clutch up cuz i didn't know and I was learning in it, etc., especially cuz it doesnt have a stock clutch. 13k miles later, still running strong :D

I'm also not ashamed to admit that the car was a gift from my rents for all my hard work that resulted in a full ride to college. They financed all $8500 for my 99, and they're still paying for it, cuz we're a very humble family with honest means :) Theyre happy with paying $200 a month for my car, instead of $52,000 a year for college (not that i'd let them pay even if i didnt have scholarships)

EDIT: everytime i think of young folks and super fast cars, i think of 04YELLOWGT lol good example of respect for power.

Hey Im only sixteen and I have a 2001 mustang bullitt. However I (unlike many others) saved up every penny for my car, I have to pay for everything. In doing so I have a greater respect for my car and dont abuse it to badly. It is true many kids are spoiled terds. For instance here is a list of some cars that go to my school: 2004 350z twin turbo'd,1969 camaro 383 on 200shot, 2007 c6 corvette stock, 2001 steeda q400, 2000 f250 turbo diesel all jacked up, oy yeah and tons of bmw's and mercedes benz's. I agree with you in that there are spoiled kids but there are even more spoiled old guys driving around in bone stock corvettes.

Exhaust and an intake  That adds all of what? Ten horses maybe? He's still about 230 short :rlaugh:

I have a similar story. Me and a couple of my buddies were on our way to a meeting when this dummy in a civic hatchback with a fart can pulls up besides me reving his engine. He takes off and I take off, purposely staying window to window with him for about a mile or so (to give him false hope). I got tired of playing with him, dropped it to third, blew a kiss to his girlfriend, and left him with a picture perfect view of my tailights :rlaugh::rlaugh:. My friends are still laughing about that.

I dunno if you could call a old guy spoiled unless he has some sugar momma buying him his cars.

If so where can I find one of those to spoil me! ;)

:lol:Well around here its not too hard to find one of those,Back 2001 I was dating this a&m student and she paid for my truck payment(2000 Chevy Silverado) and I wasnt even her boyfriend....:D.My wife also spoils me...has bought me 3 guitars,Marshall half stack and numerous crap.:nice:She's awesome.

I'm so jealous.....all I seem to find are these broke, non goal-oriented females who are only out there looking for child support checks :(

Yeah my X WIFE that I divorced in 99 is one of those...so I know what you mean.Gotta stay away from the ghetto chicks...:rlaugh:Guess I have been lucky with girls for the most part.My wife now couldnt be any better,as long as bills are paid I can buy crap for the car,or she ends up buying it for me,hell she sold her truck about month and half ago and told me to spend alot of that money on the mach..:D,Not only that but she loves muscle cars..in fact she has a 1970 F100 truck in her grandpas barn that is getting a complete restore and she is doing all the work that can possibly do herself. As of right now she has the bed removed and front fenders, next the motor is coming out along with all drivetrain and all interior is coming out in between pulling the motor.Motor is gonna get a complete teardown. She wants it to be a show truck since her gramps bought it new in 1970 and its never left the family.

I don't even date those types anymore.

If i meet a chick, and find out she works at a low-paying, no skill job, has not gone to college nor intends to and pretty much plans to mooch off whatever guy she meets...i move on....no matter how hot she is. It's a total turn-off to me.

Lately i've dated a nurse, an engineer, and a physical therapist. Nice when the other person has $$$

I want an equal...not someone i need to coddle through life (unless the sex was intense) ;)

i had an elcamino with a cammed fuel injected 454 my junior year and never got in too much trouble.. corse it handled like **** so i mostly used the power from 0-60.. i didnt go over 110 till i got my stang
