I found this very funny. Btw, I'm not registered there. I just go there from time to time. Just to see what they say about us. Keep your enemies close.

"The LT1 needs to spray because the Cobra ALREADY has a power adder, it's to make things juuuuust a little bit FAIR.....which is a word that seems to escape this "racing" generation."

Funny, they forget they have a 70 cubic inch advantage...I would hope with 70 extra cubs AND a power adder they could compete.

Yeah, they don't wanna admit, but they know. The General itself thought so much of their heavy, ugly and poorly constructed Camaro, Chevy canceled it, like a stamp. What did they expect? In some instances through its history, its been a worthy adversary, but always, just trying to be a Mustang when it grows up. Aint happened yet.

you cant deny the power of an 03/04 cobra

and camaros are a cool car, i like them alot

never rode in an ls1 car but my friend has an lt1 car. with the auto its decent, has come nice pull and grunt even with the stock gearing, its bone stock all he has is a cold air kit, i rode in it when it was stock. put a stock mustang vs a stock camaro the mustang will be beaten, but i dont think it would take much for the mustang to come back. gears, couple bolt ons and advance timing may do it

of course like stated in that topic, a camaro is harder to work on and a mustang is EASY to work on so thats where ford shines IMO lol

I hate to stick up for the lt1 car, but it's kind of apples to oranges here. The first lt1s are 10 years older than a '03-'04 Cobra. Yeah, the lt1 has more displacement, but that's no big deal considering it's a n/a ancient technology pushrod engine vs. a high tech dohc blower car. Oh, and anyone that says an f-body is a poorly designed car is out of their mind. I've seen them cut 60ft times in the 1.6 range with nothing but 17" drag radials. Put some regular tires back on and they'll handle with the best of them, what a poor design. Don't get me wrong, I love Terminators, I think they're sick cars, and I'd love to own one someday. I just think f-bodys deserve a little more credit.

And apparently easier to break. Did you see what that one guy said about their rear ends? Now I really haven't seen anyone completely destroy a rear end. Maybe a t-5, maybe even an axle. But never the entire rear end. Yes they have extra cubes. They also have a hell of alot of weight to go with those cubes. Kinda defeats the purpose. Did you see the traitor over there? The guy with the 03/04 Cobra downing Mustangs. Those Cobra's are fast. But they're not above having their asses handed to them by a fox either. At the track of course.

Look at our foxbody's. The platform started in '79. That doesn't stop an LT1 guy from bragging about beating a stock one. Or one with exhaust and a few bolt-ons. Just read more of that forum before you start to feel sorry for them. I went through the entire site in an hour. I was only looking for threads about Mustangs though. Yeah, some of them. Not all talk pure ****. I don't have anything against Camaros. I just don't like them. My first car was almost an '88 t-top IROC Z. Me and my dad went to a used car dealership. He said "I want you to have this". I looked at him and said, "I want that Mustang over there(86 t-top GT)". He said, "the Camaro or you keep walking". My answer was, "well don't wait up for me. It's a long walk back to the house. And I'll probably stop over a friends house or two." Yeah I didn't get **** that day but sore feet.

Well said. I had an 80 Z28 in 1987, damn proud of it I was, nice built small block, good car. Got my first real job after high school, went to the Chevy dealer to get my new IROC. Saw the price, and waited. Halloween,87, lined up at a stoplight with a white 87 GT, didn't even have plates yet, he sucked the sticker stripes right off my Z. Next morning I ordered my new LX, $11,008 dollars out the door. Buddy bought the IROC, the first 5.7 on the south side. In the next three years, with similar tweaks, we got our cars into the low 13's on street tires, and had similar DD usage and miles. I had the dealer tighten a nut on the backside of my air conditioning compressor. Never saw the dealer otherwise. He had a rounded out camshaft done, new hatch supports, radio went dead, had to sent out(6 weeks without a radio, didn't cruise in his car) and stress cracks separated the quarters from the roof, all warrantee work. And he only spent 8 grand more. No, Camaro's arent poorly designed, just heavy, ugly and pooly constructed. Thats why there isn't one anymore, and their owners feel stupid knowing it too. Did they change iin the years before its demise? Couldn't tell ya, but the fact that they don't make it speaks volumes.

I had a LT1 Z28 recently, but I have no regrets getting rid of it. 03/04 Cobra's are supiorior, there is no doubt, but to say the ole LT1 F-body or LS1 for that matter can't compete.... I don't know about that. If you want a fast car, the LT1 F-bodies are probally the best bang for the buch. It used to be the Fox 5.0 was but now you can't find a decent one for a decent price anymore, and face it, a fox is only a good platform and the 5.0HO has so many bottlenecks to get over, not to mention a weak block. You can still pick up a clean LT1 F-body relativly cheap, and they have good power and performance stock, and can be woken up like no other. Look up http://www.eportworks.com and cars with those packages do put down that power, it isn't advertising hype. See, the LT1 is overshadowed by the LS1, people think the LT1 doesn't have potential and only the LS can make power. Well, like the cobra, parts are expensive on the LS1 but what some don't relize is that with ported stock heads and a decent cam, the LT rivals the LS with the same mods. $vs$, the LT1 will kill the Cobra and the LS1 F-body. The 5.0 still leads in this though.

Id like to see this: i ran a 99 ls1 the other day and beat him by 3 cars, he had a maf and headers and a chip, and I straight pulled him all through 2-3rd gear, so id like to see my car on a 125 shot against him again on a 125 shot, id almost bet it would be the same result. What's that again bout the 5.0 not being a contender? LOL 5.0>5.7

Even junk thats fast sometimes, is still junk. Terminators left little question, GM was right to put the injured animal down.

i watched my cousin blow out a 12 bolt rear with an eaton posi and 4:56 gears in his 67 camaro. he was running on 28" slicks and launched at 4500. man as far as comparing ford and gm motors, i think if they want to talk about evening it up a bit, compare GM's 305 against ford's 302 and fords 351 against gm's 350. i think thats a better comparison. FORD WINS! :SNSign:

And what mods do you have...

Stock 5.0L would get murdered by a stock ls1.

gtp's, custom ported intake(stock style. but bigger than a gt40) bcam, 65mm tb, 70mm maf, the heads have been built up nicely with crane springs and such, no porting, polished valves. lots of timing LOL and a 4cyl t5 with 3.27's. we started out in 2nd and I laid into it, spinning and hooked the instant i hit 3rd, and put 3 cars on him before i went to 4th, and this thing was sounding nasty, i bout crapped myself after i beat him LOl

+1 and not for nothin but everyone is sayin how the f-bodys are so heavy, the cobras are no stick figure. They're quite the hefty vehicle, pretty much from the sn-95 change and up they have been a bit porky. My buddy has a 99 Z28 auto with stock gears, runs a cut out, lid and crap 17's and ran a 12.8 et. Car gets sideways doin 60 if you put your foot to the water pump. I know its an LS1 but both the LT1 and the LS1 are no slouch.
