Well said. I had an 80 Z28 in 1987, damn proud of it I was, nice built small block, good car. Got my first real job after high school, went to the Chevy dealer to get my new IROC. Saw the price, and waited. Halloween,87, lined up at a stoplight with a white 87 GT, didn't even have plates yet, he sucked the sticker stripes right off my Z. Next morning I ordered my new LX, $11,008 dollars out the door. Buddy bought the IROC, the first 5.7 on the south side. In the next three years, with similar tweaks, we got our cars into the low 13's on street tires, and had similar DD usage and miles. I had the dealer tighten a nut on the backside of my air conditioning compressor. Never saw the dealer otherwise. He had a rounded out camshaft done, new hatch supports, radio went dead, had to sent out(6 weeks without a radio, didn't cruise in his car) and stress cracks separated the quarters from the roof, all warrantee work. And he only spent 8 grand more. No, Camaro's arent poorly designed, just heavy, ugly and pooly constructed. Thats why there isn't one anymore, and their owners feel stupid knowing it too. Did they change iin the years before its demise? Couldn't tell ya, but the fact that they don't make it speaks volumes.
