A guy with a stock auto 96 Trans Am WS6 said he wanted to race me when I come back home for thanksgiving break. I'm going to run him, just for fun though. The outcome? I really don't know much about the 96 ws6.

well, they've got 305 rwhp, and 335 ft-lbs of torque. They weigh 3400 lbs. I think you'll get owned

The autos' weren't quite as quick as the m6. Get a good launch, give the transmission hell when you shift each gear and you will probably edge him out, especially with your gearing, but you will do just that, edge him out most likely. Maybe a carlength.

LT1's were only 285hp or so. The LS1's were the ones that were touching close to or over 300rwhp.

dont see why u would get raped.... get some decent tires, you already have the gears, if you can drive you wont get raped..... you might put some cars on him if he has traction issues, i've taken a few

with his gearing he'll have the hole shot not an auto dog... ya the 96 bird will gain on him, but the stock trans is so sloppy stock that if that car really is that-stock theres no reason you cant hold with him as long as you're not an auto or a vert ...and you get traction... no biggie, my friends' have owned(literally) a few and the only ones that were respectively fast were the 01 ram air ws6 6 spd, and the 97 lt1 z28 with gears, heads, a crazy shift kit and 150 shot of nitrous... stock though, just dont miss your shifts. of course a couple more mods wouldnt hurt you either
