After installing my LT's yesterday I ran into a few problems that need attention.

1. First would be that the o2 sensor wires dont reach. I remember reading that you could just unclip them from any brackets they were hooked to and connect them.

2. I need a couple of parts that I hope some of you guys have lying around. One would be a dipstick, and the TB spring. My buddies were taking off the bracket attached to the factory dipstick tube and when they used a plyers and some persuasion, 2 holes now sit in the middle of the tube and its bent in a way that the dipstick itself wont go down into the tube. Anyone have this stuff. Im too lazy to go to a junk yard.

Overall the install was easy, just tedious. Put 2 spark plug wires in the wrong place so I had to do the firing order all over again. And a vacuum hose decided to pop out from under the manifold so it sounds like I got a nasty cam in the car.

The steering shaft is a little too close to the headers for comfort but there is no touching when I turn the wheel. It is very close though. I might be able to fit a piece of paper inbetween the two.

And the car is so quiet on the inside now. Its awsome. I would reccomend them to anyone.

Anyways, Ill get some pictures up soon as well as some new track times. Alls I really need is an answer to the first question.

Yeah, you can pull them part way out of the wiring loom and usually get enough slack to hook them up. Or buy extensions. Or make extensions.

I would recommend just getting a Lokar dipstick, no bending required (its flexible). As for the TB spring, you can usually find a suitable replacement at your local hardware store (Ace for example, has a whole bunch of different springs that would work).

You will have to get o2 sensor extenders, just pulling them out of the clips won't give you enough room.

I was actually thinking about just extending the wires off of the 02 sensors themselves. Would this cutting and extending effect the voltage reading going to the computer.

BTW, I just went to my local shop and ordered a locar dipstick. So thats taken car of.

I extended mine about 16"-18"....cut it in the middle or so, bring that to the parts store to match the wire size...buy 3' of colored wires...i just used crimp connectors, wrap em in electrical tape some, then throw some Black wire loom over the entire works...no probs or CELs to date on mine....its been 3yrs now...
extenders are prooly easier and quicker..but im a cheap ass on some things..

So am I . I've talked to people who've pulled the wires out of the loom to make it work, but after contemplating that for awhile I decided I didn't want to deal with it, so I did just what you said -- I got appropriately sized wire and extended them myself . Cheap is okay, as long as it works!

I extended mine as well. I used one gauge thicker wire though. Seemed better IMO to do it that way. Im not quite sure what to think. Cutting wire and splicing it will add some resistance in the wire so I dunno if that will hurt anything. I get crap for gas mileage so im considering getting new o2's but with a longer wire. I know my local parts store sells them like that made by bosch.
