Some questions before re-installing lower intake.

1 When you guys drop the lower intake in place (trickflow in this case) how do you keep the gaskets from moving around when trying to position the intake into place?

2 IF I were to use the cork seals which are self adhesive on the bottom side, can you put a light film of RTV over the top of them?

3 RTV in the corners and around the water passages only right?
 
1. You need to go get 4 bolts about 3-4" long that are the same threads as your lower intake bolts - cut the heads off these bolts and screw them in at each corner - you use these to keep the lower intake centered as you drop it on. Then place the rest of the bolts and remove your guidebolts.
2. Don't use cork - I use Permatex "The Right Stuff" and lay a thick bead down at the front and rear - make sure it is thick enough to seal the lower to the block. Put a THIN layer of this on each side of the gasket around the water ports at each end of the gasket, and then run it down to the block. I usually run a thin bead around the water port of the cylinder head, place the gasket on, run another thin bead on the gasket to seal it to the lower. Then do the front and back of the block. Using the guidebolt technique described earlier, drop the intake on. Make sure you get a little oozing of the RTV out at the front and rear to make sure it's sealed up well. Then drop in the rest of the bolts, remove the guidebolts, and replace with intake bolts and torque to specs. It will take about 5-10 go arounds to get all the bolts torqued to specs.
 
u shouldnt have a problem with the lower intake gakets moving if you are using the fel pro's the kit came with. They hook right on to the head gaskets. use black rtv sealant on the rails instaed of the cork. Plop her on

Will do, BTW I just found a neat little trick as far as cutting the heads off the bolts. You can temporarly use your TB/EGR spacer studs as your guides. Turns out they have the same thread.
