Some scary stuff I saw on TV this weekend.

Well I'm probably about to piss a lot of people off, but here goes.

IMO, the bible and all future predictions are a bunch of BS. People have said the world is coming close to an end for thousands of years. For some reason, people are still saying it today. Why? Because they believe everything they read or see on TV from so called "experts". No one has any idea, it's all just a bunch of crap. Some people just seriously need to lighten up and stop being so close minded. Everyone believes anything written in a book (bible) or something some jackass down at the grocery store told them.

dude, according to that link you sent of Rita, it's coming straight for us!! isn't the rgv below sea level?

i, for one, believe in extraterrestrial life. i think it's simply ridiculous to believe we are the only form of inteligent life in a universe that is so huge, we can hardly comprehend. there are ancient mayan and aztec drawings of people waving to beings in crafts floating in the sky. hollywood's commercialized aliens too much, so we don't seem to think they do exist, but they're out there, man, and they're coming to probe you!

*note: ever notice most abductions happen in the middle of nowhere? it's always some hillbilly saying "'dem aliens took me, dey did." i don't know about you guys, but i'd rather not have uncle jasper or cleatus represent the human race, hehe... doesn't mean i'm volunteering, though--keep your damn probes away from me, foken aliens!

i can understand 2 old english guys stepping on boards to make a few circles and what not, but some of them look other-worldly. i know you can accomplish pretty cool-looking designs w/ simple geometry, but how do yo uexplain some that look like ET's senior art project?

that oil stuff is pretty scary too.... I don't believe it will ever all end. I think if something does come close to that people will lose so much oreder that something will have to restore it. anyway im too tired to think this deep.... good luck

it specified that the Earth would come to an end in 2012. I know, I know, it sounds absurd but check out the following. They then interviewed a NASA scientist and he said that they haven't released any info of this sort to not create a panic, but that they predict that the sun will pentrate through the ozone and cause all sorts of national disasters in about 6-7 years which will be 2012.

:nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono:

Yeah the sun will penetrate the Earths ozone later at some point but not until the sun is in its finial stages of dying. When that accours the sun will grow in size thus frying the ozone layer and everything on earth. This in fact wont happen for another millions and millons of yrs and we wont be around to see it happen.

The show was on the right track but the dates are way way way off.

My theaory of how the world will end will be b/c of something from space and not man made disaster. Either a comet or asteroid will bring us to our end. Comets expecially b/c alot of them cannot be seen until they pass the sun and the light from the sun iluminates there tails then they are visible. Once they reach the sun they are only a few yrs away from earth and that does not leave much time for anything to be done.

I hope you're right striped. I forgot to mention that the scientist showed some videos of the sun's activity and says that it is more active than in previous years and that it's erruptin a lot of rays all over the place. That's why they said that the ozone won't be able to take it for too long, even tho it does regenerate. I also know the sun will come to an end in millions of years but don't rule out that it can erupt like a damn volcano and the hell with us.
Ram, this damn tornado is scaring the crap out of me. It's already a category 3 and it's headed straight towards us, I hope that hot spot in the Gulf makes it do something crazy again.

Another thing he said is that the Earth is already feeling the affects of the sun in some parts of the ocean, it's building heat and will be released within this time frame. He said that was the cause for Katrina taking an upright turn in the Gulf because 1 of the 2 hotspots is in the Gulf..

WRONG!!!

hurricances have been more active since the mid 90's. Its a natural cycle that lasts anywhere from 20-40 yrs. Its just the natuaral eb and flow of the earths cycle.

Alot of this crap that you read about from these crack pots and tree huggers is just speculation b/c we as humans have not been around on the Earth long enough to see how things happen in cycles on the Earth. Global warming is natural and has nothing to do w/ humans.

Everyone crys that the glaciers are receeding back and melting. WELL DUH how f'ing stupid are these people, do they actually think this is happening just b/c humans came around? I think they tend to forget that half of the United States was once coverd in glaciers thousnds of yrs ago and from that point to today they have been receeding, they just didnt start doing it just b/c humans came around.

How do they know its just not a natural cycle the sun goes through from time to time? Think of how long the sun has been around. Now think of how long we have been around and been able to study the sun. Do they think in that short time frame we have a clear view of how the sun works and what is natural and abnormal?

Good point on the comet and that is a big possibility but also the Yellowstone is another big ass threat. It's not due for a couple thousand years but knowing it's due sometime "soon" is scary. Slow and painful death is not the way to go.

Yeah thats a big issue. So is a major Mega Thrust Earthquake off the coast of Oregon.

Not trying to sound like an ass but you guys keep saying the experts don't know they haven't been around long enough well how do you know how old the sun is and when its gonna explode. its just like the weather nobody knows wtf's gonna happen or when just live life and don't worry about it you could just fall over and die today nobody knows when their end is let alone the end of the world

Our solar system is only about a billion years old. Thus... making our sun a billion years old. It's quite simple, Red Giants are billions and billions of years old and they aren't the ones that explode it's when they become white dwarfs. That's when a star explodes.

- thank you magic school bus for teaching me everything I know

I don't believe in anything that isn't scientific. Cold facts are what I believe.

Aliens sticking lighting torches in my ass until I die just doesn't make sense.

I agree with everything Striped has already said.
