So i have these two things that my friend gave me off his 02 supercharged GT a few months back, and i've never done anything with them. The 03 Cobra Fuel Pump i dont even think he used, or if so, not for very long because he changed it out for something else. So i ******ed it up, along with this stock throttle body and FRPP 70mm T/B attatched. Here are some pics below of them:

So what do you think i should do with this fuel pump. What would putting an 03 Cobra pump in my car do? Is it specifically designed for supercharged applications (like im guessing)? I've thought about selling it for a few hundered as well since im not SURE if i'm ever going to supercharge anytime so...

Also, the throttle body. I'm going to port it out since i have this one as an extra one with the 70mm T/B already attatched, i figured i might as well try it =) Any advice for porting this stock plenum out?

Also notice here, are some alluminum plates i cut out at my sign shop. They look dirty here but trust me they aren't, that is only the protective film coating over them that is dirty. I plan on taking this scratched running horse off of the plenum and putting one of these two alluminum sign plates on instead. They will looke like polished alluminum once they are on, almost like chrome. I will then put some vinyl letterings over it. Any ideas on what you think i should make it say? Give me some creative ideas =)

Anyone want to photoshop me some lettering of graphics on there to give me some unique ideas i can put on the soon-to-be-ported plenum? :)

What about the intake plate im putting on. Think maybe i should put some badges on there? Like a 4.6 badge or somethin?

Also what is different about he 03 Cobra Fuel pump. Is it worth installin in the car? or is it only for supercharged applications? I have not yet takin my "fuels" and "engine performance" classes from tech school, so im not quite sure why some of you guys switch to Focus Fuel Pumps, etc. So i was wondering what i should do with this pump now that i have it...

EDIT:
Also, i wanted to know if my car would run poorly or not perform very well (race wise) once i install this new ported intake and larger T/b. Just looking at all the mods on my car, my power is way different than stock, and i can not afford a tune yet. And with all the mods i have, im thinking without a tune the car wont run very well...at least not to its full potential. What do you guys think? Think i will be fine installing and drivin the car both easy and hard for a while longer until i can afford a tune (probably in July)? Or should i hold off on installing this?

In July im getting the mustangtuning rear end gear package of: 3.73s, SCT XCal-2 Tuner + gear oil. And i will have 3 tunes coming with the SCT + the fact that i will getting a dyno and tune in july as well.

so what do you think about this?

All you have is exhaust  Adding a ported plenum/tb will not make it undrivable. Your car will re-adjust your fuel to compensate for any added air flow so your "modded" car will still be streetable :p

any porting tips? I know there is a porting guide on here somewhere, can't find it yet.

i've recently finished the inside of a stock plenum using a dremel. used grinding / sanding wheels to get the 'size' on the inside i want. just a hair under 75mm opening now and it matches up perfectly to the accufab 75mm t/b that just came in the mail.

they sell these sanding / finishing bits (dremel part #511 abrasive buffs).. comes 2 in a pack, one brownish, one greyish. looks almost like brillo wrapped on the bits post. they worked fantastic for smoothing everything out on the inside before using a polishing kit.

also don't try to speed through it. take your time and try to do everything as even as possible. oh and dont work on the outside until your done on the inside lol.. i screwed that up and got a couple nicks on the outside of mine that I have to touch up tomorrow before putting the clearcoat on!!!

you can put it on without a tune. 8 out of 10 people here put cai / tb / plenum on without a tune...

edit: not that 8/10 means you should, but it's a relatively low risk mod other than accidentially dropping down into your manifold... :)

i would hold on to the cobra pump in case you get some more serious mods, like a supercharger or nitrous.

the reason people swap out fuel pump to a focus pump or a cobra pump is because they flow better than the stock gt pump. in a heavily modded car you need the extra fuel to prevent loss of fuel pressure.

Ok here are some pics of my porting attemps earlier with my little hand held Dremel MultiPRO. :rlaugh: im not done yet! So dont make fun of my mess LOL, but how am i doing? Is it FUBARd? :rlaugh:

Also here are some other pics of the base of the plenum again. I want to know if these lines are normal...or if they are signes of this plenum already having been ported...maybe some of you guys can tell me. I personally think it has been ported here, because the porting guides all say to port this area...but it doesn't look like there is much more room left to port if this is in fact "unported"....

Here is a better close up:

grind all that coating off the inside , grind off the ridge from the inside too.. you might need to get the flex wand attachment that really made it easier for me at least.

don't use the sanding disks yet, use one of the stone grinders.. it will clear away all the bumpy coating off the inside fast, then work it some more with sanding disks..

also don't apply a lot of pressure.. let the speed of the dremel do the work for you..

looks like you're off to a good start tho!

so i should port that inside more? Should i buy an intake space then? (to act as the new base of the plenum while i ground out the inside a lot more making the corner steeper)

some say use a spacer some say its not needed.. but the aftermarket plenums all have the built in rise so i'm going to use one with mine.

the low outlet part you asked if you should port it more.. i smoothed it out on mine and widened it just a drop.. i didn't take any of the depth out of it since it's such a short curve to the bottom as it is.
