i just sealed the deal for a forged pistoned short block topped with AFR 165's a B303 cam and 1:7 roller rockers. other goodies will include a bbk ssi intake, 24 lb injectors and calibrated mass air and a 70mm throttle body. is there any idea how much power i should be making. lol it's really not that imporntant to me, but i know a lot of people use these heads and cam and just thought i'd at least ask.

oh yeah, and i got it all (less intake) for $1550. not too bad huh

290

That's pretty much my setup :nice:

actually to tell you the truth, the thought of putting in a stout ass 2.3 witha holset hagin off the side had crossed my mind more then once, but i decided that would be good for another project. and i'd feel bad putting a 4cyl in an original v8 car.

when ever you get it in we need some dyno numbers. i have yet to see what those bbk's can do.

FBD is going to be getting us some dyno numbers too. he is putting a carbed chevy v-6 in his car its out of a 1979 nova. he has a single barrel carb and had his ports on his heads filled in to maximize flow cause that 40 1/2 cfm carb is gonna be leaning the motor out as it is. is he trying for a neck snapping 27h.p. to the wheels.

Im starting to rethink this whole build. My engine builder said that with such an "off the heezy" setup like mine, the car will idle at about 11,500 rpms, and ill have to launch at around 14,750 rpms. I might have to change out the exhaust from a 3/4" to a full blown 1" system. I dont know if something that big will pass tech at the track, but im sure they will be curios to see some numbers as well.

You'll jam the torque converter :nonono:

You're going to need a spoiler

Ive already taken out a 3rd mortgage for my suspension, I mean hell, who knew pvc pipe costs that much  But the weight reduction in my eyes is priceless.

Im going to hate to part with it, but i might have to sell my mint dondition, one off, knock off, anti-tilt steering rack bushings just to get the money together to afford a spoiler.

ive heard oak control arms and kmembers are the way to go. but then again pine is pretty cheap. i can make you some if you want

I already have an adjustable k-member. all i have to do is tighten or loosen the bungee cords to the desired length and im all set. The control arm issue is still up in the air. While i have considered the wood approach, i want to stand out from the crowd on this one. I just cant decide between Boston or Swingline.

My friend is going faster on his 2.3 turbo setup than he ever did on his h/c/i 150 shot 306 setup.
