Sorry guys, but I think it's going to be time.

I still didn't get my point across quite right. Think about it this way. You say you can't afford 2 cars. So to be economical, you want to kill two birds with one stone ('er car). That is, you want a reliable, practical, fast and fun car, all rolled into one. And a BMW is certainly one way to do that. A very expensive way indeed.

But think again. What if you were to get a solid daily driver. Like a 2-3 year old Acura TL, Audi A4, VW Passat, etc. etc. etc. Then you would have classy wheels to drive year round (and still pretty sporty to boot), you'd still have your 'stang, and you'd even have some coin in your pocket (saved over buying that z4). Not only that, but any cars in or near the sedan class suggested above would be far far more practical than a z4 for many years into the future (back seat, 4 doors, hard top, winter driving, yada yada).

But hey, it's your choice. Just trying to give you something to think about.

the people have spoken, man. i myself don't think it's very practical to trade in your mustang for a waaay more expensive car. my $.02--get some winter tires for the mustang and/or a pretty nice dd for about $4k-8k.

Remember that the Z4 is the car that has an interior amplifyer for the exhaust......:nonono:

The exhaust is made to be louder INSIDE the car so you can hear it... really lame.:notnice:

I can't see how you can call it a year round car when it isn't AWD... try WRX STi, or Evolution. The Z4 will by no means be any cheaper to work on.

Reconsider, this almost seems laughable...

Recap... This is your car.

This is a Z4...

So if you get the Z4, pictures like this will not be possible because the roof will block the angle...

I would keep the Stang for that reason alone.

(Unless you are talking about the convertible Z4, which can not be considered to be any more capable of driving year round than your current Mustang.)

the amplifier is for the intake--not the exhaust

and you don't hear anything until 5k, then it really does sound nice--very throaty

the pic is of the proposed M coupe--not in production

Lol :rlaugh: henceforth that was a pretty good post.

But I dunno, it's difficult to explain. I did have massive plans for the stang...
and I'm not the type of guy to buy a junker mobile for the winter when they suck around here. I just know a lot of other cars will handle better in the snow than what my stang would. I don't even drive my car in the winter and I can tell you it would be horrid.

I dunno guys.
I really don't see my mind changing on this one...

it could be worse, i could sell the stang for a solstice :p

for the money i would buy a solstice over the bmw and keep the stang. I drove a solstice,a nd though i would never own a car of that type it was a nice car for the money. I would rather the wrx like some people on here have stated.

For starters, that is a very nice car you have there, Caldwell. :nice: My Mustang is at home in Indiana and I'm attending college in Minnesota. Consequently, I had to get a beater to drive around up here as the winters can be pretty harsh around here. I got my car in Texas and it has no body rust at all on it (outside our underbody) and I'd like to keep it that way. Anyway, I tossed around the idea of getting a nice dd myself because I got sick of the piece that I'm driving around now -- so I can understand where you are coming from. The only question I have (which has already been asked atually) is, why the Z4? That is a lot of dough to be dropping on a car, period. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone but aren't those Z4's like in the 40's still used? I'm just curious why you don't consider some sort of nice sedan or something for a dd. I'm not ragging on your decision (as it is in fact, your decision) I'm just curious. GL with whatever happens.

I appreciate the comments on my car Aaron :nice:
Now let's see how well I can answer those questions.

I haven't decided on a car. Although everyone's hoppin on the idea of the Z4, it hasn't been written in stone that in fact the Z4 was THE car I am selling my car for. In truth, I still want a convertible, I still want to have a car that goes when I want it to, and I still want a pimpmobile.
Personally speaking, I think the Z4s are a lot nicer looking than the Z3s, but that's just my own personal bias. And I see far too many 3 series BMWs to even consider getting one of those.

Truth be told, I am also concentrating on a Honda S2000. It all depends on what my insurance quotes me that decides the difference, but it's highly possible that I end up with that also.

My picks were as follows, in no particular order mind you.

- Nissan 350Z Roadster
I decided against this car because of all the alignment tire wear issues I've been hearing about.

- BMW 330CI Cabriolet
Too many 3 series bimmers out there for my liking

- BMW Z3
I like the Z4 styling more

- BMW Z4
I am wondering what the insurance will be like

- Honda S2000
A very certain possibility

- Mercedes SL500 Convertible
I like this car, but for some reason it looks "old" to me. It doesn't have the new look unless you're willing to buy a 2002 for $65G

- Mercedes CLK 320 Cabriolet
Again, nice, but pricey...

Okay, let the truth come out now.

I hate the WRX

I cannot handle the look of it. I think they are the ugliest cars on the planet.
It's a coupe crammed into 4 doors...

but of course, this is coming from someone who likes the Z4.

and it's not a convertible.
