Sound under shifter

My new 2018 GT 5.0 six-speed has a strange gear-like sound UNDER the shifter while in 5th and 6th gear when the accelerator pedal isn’t pressed. It goes away when cruising. It’s really only heard when I’m on the gas and when the radio is off. I didn’t know if this was normal for Mustangs or not, as I am new to them.

Mine makes these sounds in neutral, on acceleration, at cruising speeds. Basically all the time and I find it annoying and it cheapens the car. I'm thinking of taking it in but dread listening to the Ford people telling me that they don't hear a thing. My Tremec in my 2004 Corvette made rattling sounds in neutral and the shifter rattled while driving.
