So I have a 90 7up. Installed new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. #1 terminal on installed cap is at the 12 oclock position. However all wiring charts I've seen says the #1 terminal is in the 11 oclock position. HELP! Which is right?

I guess I could pull the plugs and turn the number one cylinder to TDC and see where the rotor is pointing. But I was hoping to avoid that.

That's why it's always good to do one plug/wire at a time,then switch cap/rotor.

Set your timing. That will dictate how the cap is clocked. Not a wiring chart.

Not that hard, verifying the piston tdc and tdc on the balancer is a good idea anyway, then you know you are starting in the right place.
Like Foxchasis said, check timing with a light.
