SPEC Stage II engagement

I am looking at possible getting a SPEC Stage 2 clutch kit and aluminum flywheel. I plan on adding some cams in a month. My Mustang is my DD and I do some auto-x and a few open track events. How does the Stage 2 Kevlar clutch engage? Ive heard the Stage 3 is like on/off, will I have any trouble in traffic with a stage 2? I am wanting to go with the Stage 2 because of its holding power and longevity. And I want something better than straight organic. Please dont turn this into a FRPP King Cobra vs. SPEC vs. Centerforce vs. Mcleod thread. Ive read good and bad on them all, and I like the SPEC's price and have read a few good articles on it.

I"m pretty sure it's not the on/off that the Stage 3 is. I've got a buddy with a '98 SS LS1 and he said his Spec Stage 2 is really smooth and nice, but still grabs hard.. He said it chatters some, but not much.. He would've gone with Stage 3, but he said it's just on/off like you stated

I have a spec stage 2 in my gt and it is pretty smooth in traffic. Hooks hard when I want it to. The TOB it came with sucks though, Makes a rattling sound since install

i have the spec stage 2 and the spec alum flywheel on my mach 1 and i love the set up and my driving is all in town stop and go, I don't know why some people say don't go alum flywheel on a street car because I personally love it, it obviously can't make more power but you can seriously feel more of the power getting to the wheels faster.

spec 2

I am getting a spec 2 for my cobra. I have a 3+ now and it sucks at the track. I actually dont mind it on the street. With drag radials at the track its just too much. Wheel hop on drag radials. no hop but lousy launches on MT ET Streets.

I only run 470tq at the wheels so about 540 at the engine. stage 2 rated for 589

I am going with a spec 2 in hopes of getting a clutch that will last a bit longer than the FMS clutches i have and will slip just a little so I can launch like I used to.

I'm getting a new trans with 26 spline input shaft so I need another clutch anyway.
