Speedo Needle

I walked away for a while and came back. Went in with a tack puller to work on getting the speedo needle off. I figured if I can't fix it it needs replacing anyway. I pried back n forth pretty good and it came off, with the shaft attached just like the tach needle did. With the bezel still off I went for a series of test drives where I gently placed the needle on in various positions until I got it right. I used the Waze navigation app as a speedometer to calibrate the correct position for the needle. Took about 3 tries to get it right. Once right I used a tiny bit of rtv to hold the counter weight on and pressed the needle on fully. It bounces a little here and there but it's very close otherwise.

Tach is good too showing 1900rpm at 55mph in OD which is .67 on the AOD trans. 4.11 rear

Been working on tunes too. The pioneer super tuner II that came in the car is staying. It has a low out that I'll feed a powered sub in the trunk. Subs not in yet but I just installed a pair of Kenwood 6 1/2 rounds in the doors. They alone sound pretty good. Gonna put two more of the same in the rear side panels. KFC 1665. They got decent bass for 6 1/2's. But when the sub come in, bass will be delegated there so the Kenwoods will pour on the volumes in the mids and highs. Got this Scosche fm transmitter to link the smart phone. Works fantastically!!! I recommend. Need good tunes!
