It looks like there is no weld on the top? Are you road racing causing the part to bend? Where did this part come from?

It looks like the inside pivot of the lower arm is too stiff and won't let the arm rotate with full suspension drop. Another reason why a spherical bearing makes a good pivot rather than rubber or poly bushing. Could be a reason too, why some stock strut rods break, instead of bend like yours did. Just a thought, I have never seen one bend like that before.

I thought the strut rods were made out of spring steel to resist permanent deformation (bend)? If they are I would think that the weld would remove a lot of the spring-e-ness. The end that bent looks like it is not built from the original strut.

i have gw lcas with spherical, the strut rods are spherical, could this happen from a misalignment?

Some guesses

Just some guesses,
I am wondering with the inner spherical bearing if under heavy braking force, you are not getting a twist that is bending your strut rod.
Or if you have power steering could turning the steering hard against the stop be twisting your LCA and bending the strut rod?

Or some kind of combo of the two? Or maybe turning tight into a driveway or over a bump with the steering wheel turned tight against the stop?

I would definitely like to hear what you find out though! I've got very similar components on my car, it just hasn't come off the jack stands yet. If there is a lesson here, I'd rather learn it from you than from myself.

Whose brand strut rods are those?

Well he says 'gw lcas' so I'm thinking Global West.

Twuxtop, Maybe you should call Global West and see what they have to say. And please share with us whatever you find out.

If the problem would bend the GW arms, I would hate to see what it would do to stock arms.

That is not a Global west arm it looks like a street and track from the limited photo. I think he was saying the LCA was GW.

.

i jacked it up from the lca near ball joint, set her back down, no more bend, i will keep my eyes on it, still not sure if a mis alignment is the culprit, part seems fine, but a few super tiny hairline paint cracks
