Im wanting a different sound for my mustang and im not sure what to get. I posted earlier that i will most likely be getting the upr offroad x next week but im looking for more of a deeper throatier sound. Something along the mac flowpath and flowmaster sound but what other options are out there? Spintech pro streets? How do the Spintechs sound? Im gonna go to mustangexhaust.com but just gathering opinions. Also if i were to take it to any reputable shop they should be able to cut the magnaflow mufflers out and weld in the new ones right?

I love my Spintech ProStreets. Deep and throaty between 2200 and 3000 rpms and just freaking scream past 3100...the best sound IMO is at 3500. But even though the ProStreets are supposedly thier loudest street muffler it is highly recommended that it be used with cats...maybe too much rasp without them?... I'm actually thinking of cutting my stock cats and adding high flow ones in order to wake up the sound...once you get used to it, it no longer sounds as loud as before

A little heads up about the ProStreets though, they don't idle as loud as the Flows or Mac's...but with an offroad midpipe they may. Also if you're going with an offroad midpipe, you may want to go with the Sportsman, they recommend them for use with offroad midpipes. Another advantage the Spintechs have over the 40s Flows is that the drone only lasts from 2000 to 2100 rpms and is not as loud...belive me the Flows 40s (not the super 40s) drone like all hell...cool at first but freaking annoying over the long haul.

And any reputable muffler shop would be able to cut your current mufflers and slap on those babies...and it shouldn't be a problem to add or cut piping to make up for any differences in the two mufflers either. As far as finding a reputable muffler shop, try and find a muscle car hangout and ask everyone where they get their muffler work done at...if many of them tell you the same place, then you've got a sure bet...that's how I did it and I've gone back to this shop many many times.

I have a vid of my car going down the 1/4-mile on my webpage. Might want to check it out. I have Sportsmans, but from what I have heard the Pro-Streets pretty much have the same sound but a couple notches louder.

sportsmans with cats and tail pipes are pretty quiet...

I had them on my 03 with a prochamber and dumps and it sounded sweet, was pretty loud and distinct.

then i put LT's and O/R X pipe and it was the sweetest sounding thing ever.

I have the pro-streets going on tonight on the Bullitt so we'll see how they sound.

Let me know how you like the sound becuse I have mine on with all 4 factory cats. I love the sound but could stand for it being louder...but then again, all my buddies call me crazy since they think this setup is too loud as it is

I know that some you will not believe me, but Ive had pro streets AND sportsman and they both add more top end pull than any other muffler I have ever used. They both sound good. I had the pro street without cats and it was freakish. Going under overpasses was a blast because everyone thought I was in an escaped indy car, BUT, when I got this stang I decided to go with sound over power, and went with the flows. But I am a big spintech fan, even kept the ones off of my old GT. MM+FF has dynoed these to give 17HP (probably flywheel) over stock.
