is the kit worth it or can u piece a better heads intake cam combo together for less. as of rite now ide like to by spring time be running high 12's if possible with a h/c/i setup. i'll be saving my penny's for a 347 stroker over spring time. wut does a h/c/i 347 run on average? low 12's high 11's?

I've heard good stuff about it, but it seems very very few people are actually using it.
I'm pretty sure it is meant for higher RPM applications, but not 100% sure.

You might want to try out one of the trickflow top end kits

The holley shines in upper rpms....not really a low in the rpms torque monster. It is even better on blown applications.

But with an intake like that and a smaller stroke motor(302) you just need a good cam to make it all work.

That kit will work great though down the road with the 347. Its a good kit. My dad has it on his '91Gt and with just the kit and the normal bolt-ons he was running 12.6 at 107mph. He then had the heads and intake ported, new standard bore pistons installed (for PTV clearance), a custom FTI cam, and the heads were milled. He is now putting down 346rwhp/338rwtq and has run 11.8 at 117mph so far, and that is at 3350lbs.

EDIT- this is with a 302, not a 347.

i didnt even see you were gonna run a 347. If thats the case then the holley will do fine. I heard the heads and intake were great and the cam was alright. Pauls dads car is a perfect example and thats still a 302 im pretty sure.

Yes he does. He bought a new stock block and reinstalled his crank and rods along with a set of standard bore SRP pistons and a main stud girdle. The combo is now a perfect match for a 347 cubic inch stroker... he won't have to upgrade anything except maybe the exhaust.

If he can maintain the HP/cube he has now he should have a 400rwhp 347 on his hands.

I think those Holley heads though are really more of a nitrous head with that low intake/exhuast flow differential. If you were to go with the nitrous and the cam for it, you'd have the perfect head.

Paul, once again you give me faith on running a 302/306cid car with h/c/i and the proper tune (and driver) getting to the 11s.
