well the rear end is fully built up and the Tremec 3550 is not the strongest transmission but building a car up to race at the track then worrying about breaking something is counter productive. It if something breaks big deal I'll just fix it.

would be the first alum D/S i've seen snap in the last 3 months lol

my friends T/a blew the clutch one week and snapped the DS the next...funny stuff lol

check out this, his clutch blew and took everything else with it, blew right threw the bell housing. This kinda stuff scares bryan, that's why he never goes to the track. lol BTW Bryan I noticed no problems w/ stangnet over the past few days

All you can really do is hope to not break something but if it does oh well. How have you made out at the track this year? What are you running now anyway? Still using the MT?

Saw you ripping on the kid the other day over on SVTP w/ the 2V GT w/ the Cobra badges on it lol

When I posted that on Friday I couldn't access any of the threads. Then the way stuff appears on the screen was kind of squirrely. It straightened out right after I posted a message.
As far as breakage goes its better to be prepared ahead of time. The drive shaft loop is cheap and easy insurance against some major damage to the WHOLE car(I've said this a few times in here).
That clutch exploding is scary. Lucky it didn't come through the floor and take out his foot or leg and yes that does happen. I hope he puts in a bulletproof bell housing.

Haven't done much to my car in the last couple of weeks. This weekend I'm sick and spent most of the day on the couch. Tough sleeping at night when you have to wake up every couple of hours to go pee and blow your nose. Friday night was bad glad I stayed home from work. Last weekend my wife had the weekend off from work so we spent the those days together.
One of the brake line connections was leaking fluid so I tightened it a little bit each day till it stopped. Its good that they give you torque specs for the line but it not like you can use a torque wrench on it. You are guessing and hopefully you don't go too far and ruin the fitting.
Bought some FJ Cruiser rims off Ebay for a real good price. Right place at the right time on a Friday afternoon. Going to use those on my 4Runner with summer tires and then put winter tires on my original rims for next winter. The original rims look cruddy with the clear coat pealing in a bunch of places.

Im definitely going to do the DS loop not only b/c its required w/ the slicks but b/c its after anyway but might as well do an Aluminum drive shaft at the same time. Im building the car up for the purpose of having some fun at the track. You cant do that and expect to never break anything especially when you start to deal w/ more HP and slicks. Theres no point IMO for me to dump all kinds of money into the car then do nothing but drive it around from here to work and on the weekends in the summer. While that is fun I want to put to use the mods Ive been doing on it so in all if I break something at the track oh well its nothing that cant be fixed, worse thing that can happen is if threw a rod though the block other then that everything else can be fixed.

yeah you never know what or when something can break. Sucks when it does though. Do you have AAA to tow you home?
I built my car to have more fun on the streets than on the track. If it was the other way around I would have gone with a different suspension. I like to have fun not just in a straight line but also on winding roads. I want my car to handle the roads better and to brake when I need it.

I dont have AAA now but will once I start going to the track again. I'll get the plus package that's good up for 100 miles. Its just under 100 from here to Epping. I want mine to handle good on the street to that's why Im not going to crazy w/ the suspension as far as the drag aspect. Might do some strange 10 ways next year but they are a good street shock/strut too.

yeah Im sure it has to do with the lack luster 60' times Ive always had there. That's always been an issue at NED, Ive been there enough to know how to drive the car but being on stock suspension every time w/ ever car has not helped. The panhard bar, LCA's and slicks should improve things quite a bit
