Hi All,

I just made a run down to the Summit retail store and picked up a set of the Stage8 Locking header bolts.

I'm comparing them to the stock studs and it looks as though the Stage8's are a lot shorter than the stock studs. I matched them up and the stock studs have two threaded parts: The bottom that goes into the head, and the top that the nut goes on. The Stage8's have about as much thread as the bottom part, but it looks like the only way it would bottom out in the head is if I didn't use any manifolds at all.

With the heads being aluminum, I'd think that you would want to use as much thread as possible..

Anyone have any thoughts? I don't want to wreck my heads..

Thanks!!
Riley

i've had them on my car for 4 years now without a problem. so as long as you have the correct package for your car, you'll be fine. do not get the kit for the headers to the h pipe tho, they didn't fit for my application.

Ok, so I went to put my headers on today and the Stage8 bolts wouldn't thread in! I gently tried to coax them in, but I didn't want to wreck the threads in my head.

This isn't the first time I've heard of this issue with the Stage8 bolts.

So, I went to the dealer and bought a set of studs and nuts. They went in with no problems.

Thanks!!

Sounds like Summit sold you the wrong ones.
