Stainless Steel Grill Inserts?

Or you could think about what anthony05gt and i have done to our stock grills...he painted his grill and I borrowed his idea and did the same. I bought a bottle of the Ford touch up paint for $5.47(only used half) at Wal Mart and it took me 4 hours to do 2 coats...to me much better than $250+ to cover the stock grill...IMHO. My pics are lousy due to night time when I finished but his looks sweet!!!!! I have had several comments on how nice it looks. They are shocked to learn it is the stock grill painted.

+345 on this idea. $8 bucks total including gas (if you like to floor it everywhere you go, not me...lol) and 2 hours of your time. Sit down, watch a movie or something and paint your grill, sounds like a much better idea than spending 200+ on a grill overlay.

Yeah, that's why I was asking, I'm certainly considering doing what Anthony did :), I've been following that thread too. But I was debating if the chrome might match the chrome tail light surrounds better than silver paint up front and chrome tail light surrounds.

IMO the paint jobs those guys did on their grills look much better than the overlay thing, it's too "bling-y".

Yeah, that's exactly my biggest worry. The picture I linked at the top is too bright for my tastes, but I couldn't tell if that was just a bad photo, or if it really looks that bright.

Stainless can be quite shiney. If you're worried about not matching the stainless tail light surrounds, it's a personal preference. I do not care for shiny/chrome on my Stang. I will be doing something to the grill pony to remedy that in the future.

I like the painted grill :nice: but I am very happy with the $250 I spend on my overlay one. With all the money I have put in the car it was not that much :rlaugh:

Your grill is very different than stock. The other one looks the same, just that it is stainless. I can see spending money to make it look completely different.
