How is it not her fault was your stang in motion or hers.

Thats crazy that your mom would try to stick it to you like that if you really want to show her whats up ( i dont think i would do it myself) call the police and file a report then she will have to pay but I would try to make her realize or try to make her go half on the repairs.

Tough situation though...my parents would be real about it and apoligize and pay as I would do the same for my family members.

put her car on cinderblocks until she pays. that's pretty messed up for her to wack your car like that and then say its not her fault. does she have a history of mental illness?

What does she say? That it was YOUR fault? If it wasn't your fault and she hit your car then hum ......

Only thing I can figure is "you parked behind me" which would still make it her fault. I would recommend calling the police and filling out an accident report. The cops will quickly inform her that it is her fault.

Until you explain further, I don't think anyone on this board knows what the hell you are saying really ....

I can see my mom saying this. She would be pretty angry if it happened and she hit me, but she would still pay for it. If you don't look behind you, you have no one to blame but yourself regardless of who put what behind the car.

Reason I mentioned that is because like 10 years ago I had a Camaro. Sweet ride, perfect paint, etc ... Well, one day I come home and the ENTIRE SIDE was damn near torn off. My stepdad had backed his company van up the driveway and somehow managed to tear up the front QP, driver door, rear QP of my car. At first I thought it was vandalism but found out it was him and almost hit him I was so mad (and like 16). At first he was like "you parked behind me" and I was like "so what? that doesn't mean you can mutilate my ride". Long story short, he felt really bad and definitely was willing to pay to fix it. I can laugh about it now because of how stupid one has to be, to hit a car .. then proceed to scrape the whole side without thinking "hey what's that crunching metal sound"?

My other point to him was "if you are backing out and hit the mailbox, do you blame the mailbox?"

If she pays your bills, keep your mouth shut

if not, call your insurance company/police and file a hit-and-run

Thats a pretty messed up mom, who would do that to their kid?

I would tell her she has to pay for it or you will call the cops.

First of all, How are you going to call the cops on your mom? The way i figure it, she could have swallowed you. And secondly, there has to be some way you can work something out to where you will both be happy with the outcome. All i can say is that i would never call the cops on immediate family unless it was a life or death situation. But thats just how i roll.

You should be apoligetic to your mom. She fed and raised your growing up and it sounds like shes put a roof over your head so you can afford an 03 GT.

No need burning bridges with a family member over a stupid car. Sure you are angry now, but years from now you will realize how minor it is and hopefully the two of you can laugh about it. You never know when you might need eachother in the future and before you know it you parents will be gone.

[/soapbox]

Wow, that was a little deep for a Mustang forum. Now.... since Im done:

I think you should call insurance and file a hit and run also, but thats probably not the most ethical thing to do....
