So over the weekend my friends and I went to the cubs game in Cinncinati. On the way home i am traveling through Indiana in a construction zone. I'm in the lane that has the asphalt torn up and don't have a chance to get over because of traffic, so i just stayed in the lane and didn't try to jump over. I see the end of the construction coming so i figured good this is about over, well where the construction company had stopped tearing up asphalt, they didn't put any signs to warn of a huge bump and left a huge curb. I'm talkin 4 to 5 in curb that comes up rather quickly. Anyways, I hit it a 45 and it ends up trashing two rims, front alignment, 2 tires, and i still don't know yet but possibly screwed up my rear end. As far as i know they are going to reimburse me, i just have to keep track of all my spendings. Ford quoted me $1400 in damages to start and may go higher. So i said screw that and bought a set of 04 chrome oem cobra rims and tires for $600, and then i have to have me rear end checked out after they are installed. I just got my car running a month ago after a trans rebuild and now its going to be down another month at least. This sucks!

Dude sue them for enough money to fix your car and make them pay for the labor the shops charge. It is their responsibility to warn you of any road hazards they created. I have a friend that was riding his motorcyle through a construction zone and they did not put signs out that say loose gravel and he went down at 10 MPH and he tried to sue them to fix his bike. I am not sure if he won I think he won. Good luck, I hope you win the case if you try sueing them.

Dude that really sucks. They will pay for everything though. I would make sure you get high quotes on it all. Hiotting somethging like that at that speed and I am sure you have alot of front end dammage. I would get inner tie rods, a nice new bumpsteer kit, x2 bal joints and mabey new lower controll arms.... mabey even a tubular K-member. Just have it shown that it tweaked all that stuff and you shoud be good to ge

Yea ford did an inspection on the front end and they said the alignment was way out, well no...really, tell me something i don't know, but all in all they seemed worred that the linkages to the rear end may have been tweeked. So i have to wait until i get my new rims before they can check it for sure. I can't explain how mad i was, I call the local pd and they basically said umm yea here's a number for the dot and an event number ttyl....wtf is that? So i drove home 300 miles on a doughnut tire, a dented rim and a tire with a gash in the side wall that i have know idea was still holding air

I'd go out and find the place with the highest and the lowest quotes, than use the place with the highest to file the claim, and when i got the cake id have the place thats least expensive as long as they do good work, fix it

Because americans are slobs and are inconsiderate? What does that have to do with this fellow hitting debris that shouldn't have been there?

Right. I can hit stuff like that in my Ram cause it wont hurt it. If I were to hit a 4" curb like that in my Cobra...... dammage would be $8000+
