I've been a mustang driver and fan or over ten yrs and I admit that I never logged on to stangnet but maybe because there was no stang net when I was running from the cops in 87 in my stang. but I did try last week and nobody answered my question.

I then began to realize that stangnet.com was for young bucks.

I admit that I never got to hook up my stang like the kids of today do but I've been a fan of many years. And I realize that the post system is stupid because if I had fifty stupid post under my belt then people would listen

I guess I don't understand the reason for this post? What are you trying to say? What were you trying to say that no one listened to you about? You sound really angry dude. Stangnet.com isn't only for "young bucks"...Thumper, Michael Yount, Jrichker and i'm sure others are old school stangers. If you know what you're talking about, people will listen, but I don't understand why you care if people listen to you or not...if they don't want your advice, why should you waste your time. Stangnet is awesome and I encourage you to hang around and help fellow stangers out in the areas you have knowledge...post up if you have a question...that's what it's for. I will say that making your 2nd stangnet post something crazy like this might not help encourage people to listen to you, however.

I can see youre angry with us, but instead of getting angry back, I will take your comment as just frustration and hope we can all work with you. I turn 40 this year. There are a few guys older on here and many guys in their 30's...So you can say that this is for "young bucks"

I have owned 3 mustangs since 1980, and I am the original owner of my 1994 from 10 years ago. WHen I Joined here 2 years ago, I did not know the difference between heads and headers (really no $hit).

Usually when people put their first post on here, it is kind of an "introduction" post. Like "Hey Newbie here" or "New here and have couple of questions"

Then a few guys get to know you. Usually helps to put a pic of your car and some mods if you have done them.

I Started out on Corral.net, and VibrantRedGT (moderator) saw a post there and invited me to come here. Corral has some great hardcore mechanical people there, but they are not as quick to reply to "minor bs" like foglights, broken knobs, or polishing the engine.

Dont be so quick to judge our group. Guys on here bust my chops all the time for my lack of good mechanical knowledge, but I have helped with other things here.

Try an intro post and see how it goes.

I understand what you mean about kids, and there are a few, but the good outweigh the bad. I don't mean that to sound derogatory against young people but rather it's used to describe some immature attitudes.

This is a good site and as RC mentioned (and made valid points as well) there are some very knowlegeable people on here.
I can't contribute much when it comes to tech support nor did I do any of my own work on my car, but when I read about people here doing their own work I have great admiration for them. I wish I had the knowhow, knowledge and tools myself.

This site is awesome. Just give it a while. If you don't get a response, just go back to it and bump it( you will see what I mean soon). I have posted before and got the same results but it was because there was so much activity on the site that it quickly went to the second page. Once it hits the second page, you lose alot of people because(like me) most folks don't go to page two. Be patient and stick with us, I don't post much but I hit this site every day without fail and brouse.

Hello everone, I'm 35 , have owned 9 stangs,two now--79 Pace car--94 Yellow GT, and I am a Mustangaholic. I've been using since I was 15 but I was hooked way before that. I used to sneek out late at night and sit in my sisters 78 mustang II and listen to the radio and act like I was driving the sap out of it. I had the normal books, showing their curvy sexy bodies, that I used to hide under the bed so no one would find out about my dirty secret. I have tried to quit before, you know, the usual Toyota 4x4 to take the edge off but I always relapse. I was getting a grip on things the they came out with that damn 05 concept and I was off and going again. Forgive me but I need a fix.

I started off about the same way. I posted about 3 different times with no responses, except for one guy getting on me because of the way I asked the question. There is a world of knowledge here, don't let it go to waste. And by the way, I am 36.

55 here - you'll find the average age is higher than you think. How you write your post heading and ask your question will have a lot to do with response. 100 watt light draws 8.3 amps at 12v, so if you are runing two, you have 16.6 amps running through 16 guage wire which is NOT big enough - the wire will heat up, but the problems usually are seen first at connectors that overheat. You need to run relay(s) with power from the battery to power those lights and use 12 guage wire minimum for the bulb power.

Sometimes stangnet is just slow and no one feels like replying but more like reading posts, Ive also come to discover that in my 2 yrs on this site ( 2 yrs on april 4th) that posting on the weekends is not good if you want alot of replys. People seem to be more busy w/ family, the stangs, or friends on the weekends.

I agree in a way. People on here with low post counts get labeled as scammers in the classifieds and dont get answered nearly as much as some others in the forums. If you see a question by Joe Shmo with 5 posts and you see the same question by Rob with 5,000 posts....who do you think, honestly will get the most answers to the same exact question. I think people on here with a lot of posts get way too much credit...no offense. Just cuz they have lots of posts, everyone thinks that they automatically know everything about Mustangs. This guy here has been into Mustangs forever but because he has minimal posts, he will not be taken nearly as seriously as some of the Florida guys with higher post counts.

I've noticed this all too. And a lot of the people with the higher post counts have been on stangnet for less than a year and only had their mustang for about that long. Its just funny.

I'm 38 and am fairly new to this site. I also have posted questions that didn’t get answers and at first was disappointed. I looked at the “views” and saw that there were a lot of people reading but not answering. I came to the conclusion that out of all the people on this forum some are good with engines; some are good with chassis, etc. In your case maybe the person who is good with electrical some how missed your post. It’s nothing to get mad over just try again or search prior posts to see if you can get the answer there. There are young and old and everything in-between on this site so you are assured to get many different opinions here, and that’s what makes it so much fun.
