I agree with the members of stangnet policing themselves, but this must be inclusive of all rules, not just the classifieds. GP, please don't feel that I am making a point toward you even though we have had that discussion/disagreement before. I mean more so in directing talk to the talk section and keeping the tech section tech, stepping in earlier when a disagreement becomes personal, and yes, keeping classifieds in the classified section. Hopefully we can turn the direction of this forum around and make it a great resource again.

I fully agree that ALL non tech should be here. I haven't posted talk style thread in tech. Yes, I have responded to non tech posts in tech, but that was becasue that seemed to be (and still is) the accepted norm(just look at tech now). I have always tried to steer non tech toward talk, and before the talk section was implemented I tried to steer it to outhouse/watering hole or whatever the OT forum of SN was at the time.

This is an interesting topic, sort of like airing out laundry. I've had disagreements with others here on many subjects, but come on, this is just a forum. Short of name calling, threats and vulgar language, this classic forum is very tame. I learn a lot here, and try to help with what little personal knowledge I have. I've lurked and not posted a few times, but always come back because some other forums are REALLY lame.

I can't believe you or anyone said that. i've contributed a lot to this forum, and still do post a whole lot on here. Perhaps Matt and I shouldn't be laize-fair moderators, but up until lately its worked out great! I have not posted as much tech information as i have in the past, this is due to the fact that i have a back log of articles to write along with going to school in my senior year at ASU taking 16 credit hours, working a full time job and starting up 2 businesses. I've been pulling 20 hour days. With all this I try to budget 20-30 minutes a day on Stangnet reading the posts and researching some anwers for the posts. I do post on many other forums also, but being a member of SN does not mean I or any of you have to give up other relationships and contributing to other forums.

Both Matt and I have given a lot to this forum to keep it going and if you have suggestions or constructive criticism of how we can do things better feel free to email or PM us. I've always promoted that you can talk with us. I better shut up now before I say something I shouldn't.

Nor can I. Thanks for taking the time to moderate the site. I appreciate what you are doing for the site. Those who don't like the level of customer service they get here are free to ask for their money back.

So I guess we shouldn't post our suggestions here for the "community" to hear?

you do that anyway But if it's constructive criticism towards me or something I've said I prefer it to be in a PM or email. But if i's a general thing then it's whichever.

But if you really have a problem, or concern I'm always a PM or email away.

Eh, that whole "private suggestion" thing never works and usually only results in a snide retort. I'll just continue rearranging these deck chairs. Man it's cold out here.

Carry on

Lol.. these are the days of our Stangnet.

As a stangnet old-timer, lemme just say this.... I remember the days when there was no classics forum. Then I remember the days in which we had a classic forum and had almost no traffic. Today I look at the tech forum and we are getting about 1 page of new threads every day. 3 years ago we'd be lucky to get that many threads in a week.

The knowledge that is here is better than ever before. With more traffic comes more BS.. it's the way of life.

People always jump ship... and people always replace them. It's the way of the internet.

I can't say that the place is going down or not. I've always seen it as organic where there is an ebb and flow to things. That said, there has been enough OT BS in here that I bet I post about 1/10th as much as I used to. I still post plenty on other forums though.
