Do anybody knows what's the drag coefficient for the previous and new stangs?
87-93: ?
94-04: ?
05: ?

Thanks!

Yeah, right. No one talks about those numbers unless they have been improved and worked on specifically for braggin rights to the press...like the corvette and S7. I doubt you will find them. I doubt the older ones were even measured.

I dont remember the numbers, but I believe the 97-93 hatches were better than the newer stangs

It's a shame that ford is not paying any atention to this. It's cool to win 1/4 runs . .. but is kind of disappointing to see many mustangs loosing highway brawls because it's horrible aerodynamics and 5spd with the overdive 5th gear(instead of a 6spd).

Drastic changes would have to be made to the body style to make much of a difference. You end up with jelly bean styling...aka the new GTO. The look of the new stang is what will sell it, not the efficiency. That is why the camaro isn't with us any longer and the stang is. Comaro got better mpg/hp because of the aerodynamic shape but looked like crap, so they couldn't sell as many as the v6 stangs(the real money maker for ford).

Yep, if you go back and read the comments folks liked about the 05, most of them are about the looks of the front end. That great big open mouth grill that looks as if it's trying suck all the air out of the sky. It made for terrible aerodynamics back in the 60's and it hasn't change much. But it will sell very well.

Just make sure you shut it down before 120 MPH when you are beating that vett.
