Started the 84 t-top coupe

Definitely looking great!!!

If you do go with a different bumper cover, maybe move up to a GT unit with the fog light valence?? One of my favorite noses is the 84 GT with the tapered eggcrate grille combined with the fog light valence similar to the 85/86 GT's. I think that subtle upgrade will give you a slightly more aggressive look without really altering the overall look of the car.

If it were me, being that I like things simple, the only two toning I would do on this car is a hood stripe that tapers down onto the grille, like the stock one on 83-84 GT's. I'd also do all the molding and headlight buckets in factory-esque satin black.

Not much in the Mustang world gets me more amped up than seeing a clean, stock looking 4-eye with minor cosmetic upgrades like hood, wing, stance and wheels. Under the skin it is more or less fair game...but not much is hotter than an enhanced stock 4-eye.

Most of everything you mentioned is exactly what we are trying to achieve. Even the custom interior will have a strong foureyed feeling. I don't know if the place we called would have a gt front or not it was real hard to find the standard one.
Thanks

Yeah I got one. It came off my 84 GT T-Top. It's in pretty good condition. Just a couple small holes where a tag was and one or two of the grill bars are broke. You can't even tell without putting pressure on the grill. Both of these would be easy fixes. We've fixed a lot worse. I just thought if you had trouble finding one this one might work. If the other one doesn't work out, I will send you this one. Just pay shipping. I can't wait to see this done. Did you ever decide on wheels?

Thanks for the offer. The one I orderd from J&J is coming Tues. we'll see how it is, never delt with them before. No, still undecided on wheels, but found some 345 Toyos for the back:)

i think it would look good with some subtle ghost flames somewhere on the car

We are going to use your idea.

Here are a few updates, we are close to having everything ready to paint now. I messed with doors for days and days, and ended up having to cut the hinge off the drivers side and reweld it , it needed to move over 1/2 ''. We caved in and decided to get a reconditioned front bumper cover. It came from J&J bumpers in Rhode Island, it's really nice, and it was the only one we could find. Julie called like 12 places and no one has the 83 - 84 anymore. So we had no choice on a GT or the LX, just happy to have the recoditioned one.

Well I won't lie I am a little disappointed that it will have an LX front bumper...I think the 83 LX/GT and 84 LX bumper are the ugliest while the 84 GT w/fog lights is one of my favorites. This car is too bad ass to have a weak looking nose. it needs that low-slung valence. Maybe find a Saleen valence to tack onto the bottom of it?

I still got this 84 gt front if you want it. I know you just got that one. However, I also know you want to be completely satisfied with the finished product. Just let me know if you want to try it. You might not believe this but JB weld is really good for fixing bumper covers. You can buy the expensive 3m stuff or the cheap JB weld. JB weld has the same chemical make-up as the other products or the bumper itself. It's been a while and I don't remember which. We have used it to fixed cracked covers before, with great results.

It might also have the foglight harware also.

Thanks, for the find. That one looks to rough for me though. I found a oem front air dam still in the box with the directions, when I got to the part where it said to cut off the bottom of the lx bumper cover I decided to pass. :eek:The guy also wanted $250.00 plus shipping from Alberta Canada.
