Well I finally got my ignition hooked up.....So I put a little gas on the carb and to my surprise it starts like in the second crank..... so I put more gas......Started it and let it turn of......All this time my bro is cranking the car for me....any how the next time I pour gas into a cup and start the car I try to keep the car alive and bam it catches a flame I get scared.....and notice that my cup is on fire!!!!!!!!!  So I threw it on the floor!!!! Not to smart!!!!! The floor catches fire!!!! At this time I grab a rag and smack the fire!!! Again not a good Idea I just spread the fire!!!! By this time my bro had gotten of the car and ran for the hose I ran out with him and as he turns on the hose Im running to the car with the hose!!!! As I start spraying from far away I slip on the water and fall on my ass!!! I didnt even try to catch myself as I kept spraying the fire!!!As I ran back I could just imaging my car up in flames!!!!! I got it out!!!! I was shooken up!!!!  After all this happen me and my bro started laughing our asses of!!!!! I get the water of the floor and go inside lol!!! About an hour later I start the car again just to make sure it worked lol!!!!! All the time I was thinking my pride and joy!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!Take me instead lol!!!! Luckily there was no fire on the car just the flame that came out the carb to start the fire lol!!!!

Well it sounded like **** because the passenger side header isnt plugged yet for the egr crap.... but other than that all I can say it started lol

The firefighter types on here will advise that water is NOT what you use to put out a gasoline fire. (Gas floats on water.) I guess it's better than nothing, though.

That was a funny story! Thanks for making my day!

Hey! Maybe you can get a nice little chrome one to mount on the windsheild pillar!? :rlaugh: That would rock! :hail2:

Just kidding. It's a good idea. You can buy automotive ones at the hardware store. ;)

Sounds like you need one for your garage, too. :nice:

and notice that my cup is on fire

I'm reminded of an especially boring time during a baseball game................... :D

Guero, you have a brother?

How did your Pops handle it? I bet he was ticked!

A nice thing about carbs is that you can use a make-shift fuel reservoir with a rubber line and clear filter. I use such a thing when working on the bikes.

We're glad you're ok.

Actually water is fine you just gotta do it right. A stright stream into a puddle of gas will splash and spread it. I know this from experience lol. We had training one night and we had gas in a trash can lid i walked up and just sprayed it and the **** blew back in my face. You have to put your finger over the nozzle or hose to make it spread out

True dat.

I've seen water used on electrical fires, too. At an electrical substation, even. With the power on, even. :nice:

Nope. They set the nozzle on a wide, light mist with the wind on their backs. Gravity and the breeze carried the water in. The electricity wont travel through air from drop to drop. They kept it under control until foam got there. (And the power could be shut off to that part of the substation.)

I saw that they were getting ready to hit it and thought that the power was already off. I didn't find out till later that it was still on. :jaw:
