Starting problem? Need help!

Hey guys. Well.. sometimes when my stang is parked for a good.. 3-6 hours and I go to start it.. it will hesitate to start. But, when it has been started and then driven, then turned off for about an hour or so, it starts up fine. ANyone else have these probs? if so, can someone help me get rid of them or tell me if this is something I need to worry about? also, when i hit bumps (bigger bumps) it sounds like something on my passenger side near the rear is loose... thanks guys. any reply is appriciated.

I have the same problem with my 03 GT. The dealer told me it has something to do with excess exhaust fumes not exiting and causing moisture in the ports. Even my 4.6 Supercrew had that problem. It seems like a normality. I don't think it can really be fixed. Just give the ignition time to program a start. It's really embarrassing to be at the store next to someone and the car starts like crap or not at all. I just don't worry about it anymore. I'm not sure about the bumps noise. Mine makes a squeaking sometimes but not like its gonna fall off. hope this helps

I don't think so. I recommend it especially for the chicks, and I know alot of people that have them in their stangs and cobras. The rice burners have them in their cars because they can't make it up in their engine. A good engine plus a good system, that's pimpin!! Are those solo-barics any good?

They're awesome man, they push out so much bass it's nuts, and especially for 10's.. I coulda sh** myself when I heard them the first time.. never woulda guessed they were 10's.

check your fuel pressure after its been siting for for a while(should be around 40 psi). it should hold pressure for an hour or so, before it begins to drop. IF it dosen't hold pressure, it could be a leaking check valve in the fuel pump. this problem is most evident when the engine is hot, and then it sits for about a half hour. When it acts up try turning the key off and on several times to get the fuel pressure where its needed, and then see if it starts with no problem. As you can see this is probably not your problem since your stang is so new, but maybe it can help others.

My .02c on this problem is a bad ecu code. I had the exact same problem. When the car would sit for 6+ hours it would be really hard to start, sometimes taking 2 to 3 cranks. I got fed up dealing with Ford, thought I would have to live with it and put a Diablo chip and gears in a few weeks later. Low and behold the car starts perfectly now no problems at all. I think there is a bad code somewhere for the start that Ford just hasnt found. Once my chip with a custom tune went on the problem went away. I was very happy to say the least. I know my fix isnt for everyone, but it gives you another idea.
By the way, Ford gave me 2 new IAC's, a new TB, new hoses connecting my CAI, and tried 2 ecu flashes, as well as hooking it up to fuel and line pressure tests. They found nothing

I used to have this problem with my 03 gt. Id turn the key and it would just crank for a couple seconds then Id try again and it would start up fine. But this was when I first got the car. The car has a little over 10,000 miles on it and hasnt done that for a LONG time. I wouldnt be t0o worried about it. Ive seen a lot of people with 03 GT's that have the same problem.

Just a thought -- the 4.6GT is set to run on 87 octane. If you use 91-93 all the time your car can be hard to start. This has happened to me, i go back to 87 and no problems.
