Starting Problem

I know I've read about this problem on here before, but I'm not sure if anyone has a solution. Drive the car for awhile, get it up to operating temp, shut it down, and try to start it within an hour or so and it won't start the first time.

I've tried turning the key to on position and waiting for the idiot lights to go out.

This is just a little annoying.

If it doesn't start and you wait another hour or so will it start then?

In the old days it was a problem with the starter heating up. Fix was a heat shield.

It starts up immediately on the second try...no wait.

I think he means it doesn't start as soon as it would when the car was cold.

It's a pretty common problem. My GT has done it since new basically. It always happens if i restart within a few minutes of shutting down when the engine is warm.

I also try to cycle the key before i start but it doesn't always help.

Car runs fine, it just takes an extra crank to start it.

Same here just cranks a little longer before starting when hot.

Mine is exactly opposite. Takes a few cranks when cold, but fires right up when hot. It's a headswapped Frankenstein so who knows what's going on?

same here, takes an extra crank or two to get here going when she's warm



sucks when you're at a gas station and it happens, kinda embarrasing

Mine did that for a while, then I got a new fuel filter and it stopped for a while...but now it's doing it again...and yes it is pretty embarassing
