I plan on having most of the sanding done tonight! Haha like that will eve happen but I'm going to try to get most of it done tonight then polish it up tomorrow. I've only been working on it for about an hour now after I removed the coating. I got the aircraft remover from Discount Auto Parts but it was in a spray can and worked great but just one thing, watch out for that damn overspray! Heres a progress picture so of what I've done so far. Been using a diegrinder with some sort of black sanding disk on it that my dad had in his tool box and a pair of oakley dirtbike goggles to keep the crap out of my eyes  Let me know what you think so far for only sanding for an hour :D

No... I took a grinder to that. I didnt care if it said Edelbrock or not on the top... Kinda anoying it being there (to me at least) Plus makes it a lot easier to sand/polish that spot.

Sanded 220 with the DA sander

You guys have way more ambition than I do. I HATE polishing stuff. My GT40 was all tore up. I went at it with 120 and after about 2 minutes, I was like F-this. I layed her down and sprayed it black with some high temp stuff. Good enough for me .

That thing is looking killer. I think it looks much better now that you took the Edelbrock logo off :nice:.

Thanks Joe. I dont mind polish stuff... I just hate the sanding part :bang: Well I'm headed back out to work on it. Gotta have it done by tomorrow afternoon/night so I can stick it back on my car so I can drive it again.

I did all mine by hand except the polishing part. It was hell I tell you.
its turning out that I have to go back over everything with 100 and up grit paper by hand but thats ok... The DA sander took down the ruf surface so I just have to remove the sanding marks :nice: Theres some places the sander cant get to and its a PITA to sand by hand so theres still some pits there, but its down at the base of the intake so it wont be THAT noticable... Gawd I need to get some better sanding tools.

Ok I finally got it all sanded down and ready to be polished :) There are some small scratches on it from the previous grit paper but the compounds should take them out most of the way if not all the way out. Heres now it sits right now, I'm going to polish it up tomorrow and post some more pictures.

Thats mostly 600 and some 1500... the 1500 got clogged really easily but 220 got sanded the best, 320 was pretty good, 400 was alright, 600 was tolerable, 1500 I just stopped caring lol But I did get a good 220-320 sanding done to it

At least its still an edelbrock and not like that fake typhoon one you have :rlaugh: :D

Another :stupid: post by Zach..It's not a FAKE Typhoon, it is a REAL Typhoon. Seems to me that the smarter of the 2 is the one that paid $200 less, ALREADY came polished, AND has a higher power band, but I dont know...that's just me
