Starting up for the first time in 10 months

So, my 3.8 has been sitting for the better part of ten months. I didn't have a trickle charger on it, so the battery is definitely dead. I just wanted to touch base with you guys. Basically, before I turn it over for the first time, is there anything I should do or be aware of? I'd hate to damage anything considering it's a newly rebuilt motor.

If it's a rebuilt motor, there should be assembly lube protecting the internals from rust. Just make sure all of the fluids are topped off, charge the battery, start it and make sure you have oil pressure, and check for leaks.

It probably wouldn't hurt to run a bottle of fuel system cleaner through, too. After sitting 10 months, the fuel is probably going to be getting stale and you don't want any gum or varnish building up.

Change that oil. U want to get some fresh fluids running through there.

I would put some synthetic oil in the car. Royal purple or Lucas oils. I would run on at least 91 octane fuel for a couple of week. Just keep basic mantanience on it and you should be fine.
