I have a 2006 GT vert that I store away for the winter. When I took in out of storage to have its yearly inspection the computer said the car was not ready to run the emissions. The pre-emmission report says that the catalytic converter efficiency, heated oxygen sensor, and the oxygen sensor is not ready.

My repair shop seems to think that because the battery died while it was in storage the computer reads not ready. He told me to keep driving. He told me it needs a certain number of cold starts for all the systems to be ready to hook up the car for the emissions test.

BTW, I live in Rhode Isand.

Any suggestions?

Do you have a custom tune in your cars computer? If so you will need to go back to the factory tune and drive about 200 miles then resubmit for testing. I have to do this myself every time I get an emissions test. Most custome tunes TURN OFF the 02 sensors.

sorry i should have also added that I have a vortech supercharger so I don't think that could be an option. The car passed an inspection two years ago when i had the supercharger so i don't know what the problem is.
