Steam or smoke, that is the question...

Ok, every time it's below 60 degrees(or so) outside my car either smokes or steams. It started after my H/C/I and longtubes. So I have no cats or smog pump. But it only does it after it warms up on cooler days.

I havn't seen any coolant in the oil, and no oil in the coolant. I have changed/flushed both. Also, I have checked for air bubbles in the overflow like suggested, and saw none. But, it seriously freaks me out to see the amount of steam/smoke when it's running on a chilly day.

Anybody else experience this?

Where is the smoke/steam coming from? It may be coolant leaking onto something hot, which will make a vapor.

It comes out of the tailpipes. I guess I should have mentioned that. And my coolant level is stable. Also, I don't 100% think it's smoke, but I just want to make sure. Like I said it only happens on cooler days.

I basically just want to know if you guys have the same thing happen on 60 degree or colder days. It didn't happen before the h/c/i so I'm kinda worried. But the new setup doesn't have cats or a smog pump.

yup, we have been getting a cold spell here and it got down to 58 and when i drove up my hill to get out of the sub division i could see all the fog/condensation whatever you want to call it coming out of my pipes from the hot exhaust meeting th cool air. I have no cats either if that helps the story. But overall i think your okay. I had the same worries when i first bought the car.

Yeah dude, this is probably the most mild summer since I've lived in Kansas(I've lived here for 10 years). I'm enjoying it thats for sure. :nice:

Anyway, thats probably why I've been noticing the exhaust so much. Thanks for the help guys.
