i just got 1 of these today....its the double hook 1
just wondering how easy it is to install, and or if i can do it myself
please help or if there are any tech write ups that would be great

Not too bad to do as long as you can fit under your dash. The biggest problem (and not a big deal) is removing the factory springs and quadrant pieces. Have a pick on hand to help pry the springs free. Basically, remove the two cotter pin stlye clips on the end of the factory shafts, remove the factory wound/coiled springs, slide the two plastic quadrant parts off, slide the new one on, hook the cable back up, put your pins/clips back in, and off you go. Don't be surprised to find out that you now need the adjustable cable or firewall adjuster though....
Sorry, don't have the proper equipment to post pics, I spent my $ on the car. Anyway, the whole thing should take you about 30-45 minutes to do, including changing the cable. Too bad you live to far away, I'd give you a hand with it, done it several times on several cars. Really, once you start taking things off, it gets pretty self explanitory. One of those "oh yeah" moments. Give it a shot, worst case is you have to ask a question....
i jacked the car up today and took a few looks at my project at hand....im not sure how i get the cable out towards the clutch, do i have to engage the clutch or anything or do i just yank it...what is it attached to i see it goes in towards the tranny, i just dont see how i get it out.
any help??
There is one bolt holding the cover over it, then it slides back and off. Read the instructions that came with the kit and make sure you configure the ball shaped nut and lock nut properly on the clutch fork.
Some folks dont have any problems getting the stock quadrant off, but it took me darn near all day. I had to bend a metal brace for the dash slightly, then the factory pawl slid right off. It was easy after that. Take out you drvers seat before you start, and cover the studs with some thick padding. This will make the job much easier. The Haynes manual says to remove the pedal tree and lower the steering column, pay no attention to that. I strongly recommend a fire wall adj. too.
