Steeda Timing Adjuster

Hey guys I was wondering what exactly a steeda timing adjuster does. I see a lot of people saying to install it at the same time as pulleys but not sure what it does. What does it help and are there any drawbacks besides needing premium fuel? Oh and I guess I dont need this really if my SCT tune does what the timing adjuster already does?

It's to adjust the timing manually.. mechanically.. whatever you want to call it, when this normally isn't possible except through a tuner like you have. If you have a tune, then you probably don't need this. It's for people who want to bump their timing whenever they feel like, but if you're already tuned, you should be good.

Just curious, why'd you pay for a dyno dune after a CAI and subframes?

the steeda timing adjuster, allows you to adjust the crank position sensor manually. adjusting the timing with the computer will have the same results. quicker throttle response, and a little more hp. the only advantage of the steeda timing adjuster, or any other mechanical adjuster, is that you can advance/retard your timing 10 degrees either direction with only a allen wrench. with a chip advance you are stuck with what ever tune(s) you have.

as they have said.... also you will need to use 93 octane with you run at high degrees

Haha yeah I know, well actually the dyno is just with the SCT tune. I wanted to get a dyno tune when I was pure stock so I know my baseline that I started out with, but I just ended up seeing what I was at with the tune. Since then I've added the CAI. My numbers are off a Mustang Dynometer not a DynoJet and I run an automatic trans which is why my numbers probably make me the slowest GT on the site
