The Steeda shifter was my best mod to date. There is some gear noise since I did not put the stock rubber boot back in. The Steeda instructions tell you that it will cause the tri-ax to feel like the stock shifter, but without it it will cause more cabin noice. I have a Mach 1000 audio system so I don't know what transmission noise everybody is talking about.

the shifter is really one of the best mods available. before I installed mine and I was in high rpms.. when I went to shift to 3rd, it was very very easy to miss it. the Tri-Ax took care of that

The correct Tri-Ax part number is 555-7363 (for a T-3650 trans).

The most popular shifters are the MGW and the Tri-Ax.

Most brands are similar quality, but what it comes down to is ergonomics. Some like the Pro-5.0 feel awful to me. To some they might be perfect.
It's hard to recommend a shifter. You should hit a show or event where you can ask people what they have and see if they'll let you row the gears to see what you like.

I haven't tried the other aftermarket shifters but since they were all mentioned, I will say that with my MGW I do not have any additional noise that is noticable.

It does require a slight bit more effort to shift than stock but as you get used to it, it becomes second nature and not noticable.

I have taken it out and beaten on it and I love the way I can slam into third gear without fear of missing it. With the stock shifter, I have missed third before at the worse times.
